CIT SKIN SHADER

Texture

CIT uses JPG/JPEG shaders up to 1024 × 1024. Use /customskin for a skin or /vehskin for a vehicle. Check your texture in game.

JPG has no transparency; any transparent canvas pixels become black. The 3D preview uses browser lighting. Shared UV areas and the original model shape remain part of the model.

PNG and the preview sheet are working files. Keep a project backup to edit layers later.

A skin from start to finish

  1. Choose your own files. Select a skin or vehicle DFF and its TXD together, or an embedded GLB. You can include PNG, JPG or WebP textures. The website does not provide game models or textures.
  2. Choose a texture. Use Texture to edit to select the material you want. The canvas keeps its proportions and fits textures larger than 1024 pixels to the editor limit. Missing textures start white. Save a separate project for each texture.
  3. Paint on a new layer. Draw directly on the 3D model or its flat texture. Right-drag rotates the model. The Original toggle lets you compare.
  4. Select what to change. Use Box select, Oval select or Select to trace an area. Magic wand selects connected colors; By color finds them across the image. Paint, gradients and fills stay inside the selection.
  5. Add your logo. Click Add logo, drop a file onto the canvas, or paste an image. PNG, JPG, WebP and SVG graphics are supported. In Transform, drag to move it; use the corner handles to resize and the round handle to rotate. Place decal moves it directly to a point on the 3D model.
  6. Edit here. Crop the logo, trim transparent edges, remove a solid background, flip it, or adjust its colors. Add editable rectangles, ellipses, lines and text. Convert an image to a paint layer to brush or erase its pixels. Duplicate it first to keep an editable original.
  7. Use a mask. Add a mask in the layer settings to hide parts of a logo without deleting them. With Paint the mask checked, Brush hides and Eraser restores. Use selection keeps just the selected area.
  8. Retouch and blend. Copy visible makes a paint layer from what you see. Use Clone, Blur, Sharpen, Lighten or Darken on it. For Clone, Alt click a source on the flat texture first. Brush settings has hardness, mirrored strokes and gradient colors.
  9. Keep an editable copy. Save in this browser and download a .citpaint project backup. It keeps the texture and layers, but does not keep your model files. Use Attach model after reopening a project. Export the JPG when you are ready to try your shader in CIT.

What the preview can tell you

Painting changes the existing texture, not the body shape or UV layout. Shared or mirrored UVs can repeat your design. UV guides mark triangle edges, not named body parts. CIT’s lighting can differ from this browser preview.

Choose only files you are allowed to use. Model files stay in memory for this tab and are not uploaded or stored. Saving a project stores your editable texture and layers only when you ask. This is an unofficial fan tool, with no Rockstar Games or Take-Two affiliation.
