Mechanic Job

The Mechanic job involves repairing and modifying vehicles in CIT. Mechanics can repair player vehicles, broken vehicles, scrap cars, and paint vehicles. Mechanics can work in three cities with designated job locations and can earn money or iron as payment. The job also has a progression system with 10 levels, where each level requires the mechanic to earn a specific amount of money from the different tasks. Mechanics can also repair broken vehicles marked with an "R" and scrap vehicles to earn iron.

Job Locations

The Mechanic job can be taken at the following locations in San Andreas:

  • North East LS (Near Pay and Spray, by the modification shop).
  • North Central LV (Near Pay and Spray).
  • East San Fierro (Near Pay and Spray).
  • Commercial Facilities, City Island SF.

How to Work as a Mechanic

  1. Repairing Vehicles
    • Stand next to the vehicle you wish to repair.
    • Press X to bring up the repair menu.
    • Click on the vehicle and select "Repair Vehicle".
    • After repairing, the owner will be notified, and they can accept or decline the repair service.
  2. Repairing Broken Vehicles
    • Look for R-marked vehicles on the map.
    • Stand next to the vehicle, press X, and click Repair Vehicle to fix it.
  3. Scrapping Vehicles
    • To scrap a vehicle, you need a Towtruck (buy or spawn).
    • Drive to the pink truck icon on the map, approach the vehicle from the front, and lower the hook using Num_8.
    • Attach the vehicle, lift it using Num_2, and transport it to the Grey truck icon on the map to drop it off.
    • You’ll receive iron as a reward.
  4. Painting Vehicles
    • Purchase or craft a spray can.
    • Aim at the vehicle you want to paint and press RMB to start spraying.
    • There is no fee for painting your own vehicle, but you’ll earn $1,500 for painting someone else’s vehicle.
