How to Link Group and Squad Chats to Discord

To enhance communication, you can link your CIT group and squad chats to Discord, allowing messages to sync between in-game and Discord. Follow the steps below:

Linking Your Group Chat to Discord

  1. Get the Discord Code:
    • Use the /gdiscordcode command to get instructions on how to invite the bot and link your group chat to Discord.
  2. Invite the Bot:
    • Follow the provided instructions to invite the CIT Bot to your Discord server.
  3. Link the Group:
    • Ensure you're in the correct channel in Discord and type the command provided by the bot (e.g., .link <code>). This links your group chat to Discord.
  4. Unlinking the Group Chat:
    • To unlink, use /gforceunlink in-game or .unlink on Discord. You must have the permission to delete the group to perform these actions.
    • If the link doesn't work, use /grefresh to refresh the sync.
  5. Sync Group Chat Commands:
    • After linking, you can use .online to check the online status of players.
    • Use /gsetdeltime <time> to set a time for automatically deleting messages from Discord after a certain period (e.g., 24 hours).
    • Use /gsyncinfo to check the sync status in-game.

Linking Your Squad Chat to Discord

  1. Get the Squad Discord Code:
    • Use /sdiscordcode to get instructions on how to invite the bot and link your squad chat to Discord.
  2. Invite the Bot and Link the Squad:
    • Similar to group chat, ensure you're in the correct Discord channel and type .link <code> to link the squad chat.
  3. Unlinking the Squad Chat:
    • Use /sforceunlink in-game or .unlink on Discord to unlink the squad chat.
    • Use /srefresh to refresh the sync if unlinking doesn’t work.
  4. Sync Squad Chat Commands:
    • You can also use /sdiscordcode ssc to link the Squad Staff Chat to Discord.

Managing Discord Permissions and Commands

Once you've linked your group and squad chats to Discord, you can configure several settings to ensure smooth operation:

Deleting Messages Automatically

  • Automatic Message Deletion:
    • You can set a time for messages to be automatically deleted after a certain period using the /gsetdeltime <time> command.
    • For example, setting the time to "24 hours" will delete messages 24 hours after being sent.
  • Checking Deletion Settings:
    • Use .deltime on Discord or /gsyncinfo in-game to see the current message deletion settings.

Linking to Group and Squad Staff Chat

  • Link Group Staff Chat:
    • To link your group staff chat, use /gdiscordcode gsc to get the instructions, and then use .linkgsc on Discord to complete the process.
  • Link Squad Staff Chat:
    • To link the squad staff chat, use /sdiscordcode ssc to get instructions and follow the same process as group staff chat.

Unlinking Your Discord Account

If you wish to unlink your Discord account from your CIT account, use the following command:

  • Unlink Command:
    • Use /dunverify to disconnect your Discord account from your CIT profile.

Important Notes

  • Permissions: To perform certain actions (like linking or unlinking), you need the necessary permissions in the group or squad. This typically includes having permission to delete the group or squad.
  • Avoiding Glitches: If syncing or unlinking doesn’t work as expected, ensure the bot has appropriate permissions on Discord. Contact Relerx if the issue persists.
  • Restrictions: Only L5+ members can link or unlink group and squad chats.
