New Player Features

New Player Features are the starter rewards, temporary benefits, and beginner help a player receives when joining CIT.

New player quick facts

Fact Value Notes
Starting money $150,000 cash and $5,000 bank New Civilian players also get an extra $50,000.
Starting drugs 15 hits of each drug Use F4 to manage drugs.
Help messages Shown on screen Use /shownewplayerhelp to show translated new player help.
Hour label 1H to 15H Used for new players.
Job warp /jobs Under 20 hours, it warps to the Employment Office.
Police warp /lspd Under 20 hours, it warps to LSPD.
Rapid Transport /rt Available while under 15 hours.
Tutorial Backspace New players can skip the tutorial.

Starter Benefits

When a new player joins CIT, they receive:

  • starting cash
  • bank money
  • starter drugs
  • vehicle access information
  • temporary VIP benefits
  • temporary Rapid Transport access
  • new player hours labels
  • on screen help messages

Starting rewards

New players start with:

  • $150,000 cash
  • $5,000 in the bank
  • 15 hits of each drug

New Civilian players also get:

  • an extra $50,000

This means a new Civilian player starts with:

  • $200,000 cash

White vehicle markers

All players can use visible white vehicle markers to get vehicles that cost $5,000.

This is not a new player only benefit.

Temporary VIP benefits

New players keep:

  • VIP benefits until they reach 10 hours of playtime

Temporary Rapid Transport access

New players can use:

  • /rt while they are under 15 hours of playtime

New player hours label

New players show an hours played label above their head.

These labels appear as:

  • 1H
  • 2H
  • 3H
  • and so on up to 15H

On screen help messages

New players get:

  • on screen help messages

These are beginner tips, such as telling you to press J to open chat.

They can be turned off in:

  • /settings

Benefit Notes

  • New player hours labels are used from 1H to 15H.
  • VIP benefits end at 10 hours of playtime.
  • /rt access ends at 15 hours of playtime.

  • Players cannot enter interiors for 10 seconds after being hurt.
  • Players cannot enter interiors if recently hurt.
  • CITPhone Event Times can show civilian triple XP and store robbery reset times.

  • GPS waypoint distance text includes an ETA based on current speed.
  • Zooming in on a job blip on F11 shows the job name.

  • To play CIT Novels with other players, create or join a queue with other players.
  • Select a novel, choose a chapter, then click Play.
  • Turn off /mplayer music and phone radio, and hide chat with /showchat for best experience.
  • CITPhone Browser app lookup and /bind F3 browse bind.


Early warps and story content

Players with less than 20 hours of playtime can use:

  • /jobs to warp to the employment office
  • /lspd to warp to LSPD

New players can also try CIT Novels through:

  • /novels
