What it means

A CD code appears when a connection to a server fails, is refused, or ends. Most of them carry a second line with the server's own reason. MTA's own documentation gives this code as Serial verification failed.

How to fix it

Work down the list and stop when it is solved.

1. Repair your MTA installation

   Run the current installer from multitheftauto.com over your existing installation. It replaces MTA's own files without touching your settings.

2. Try the connection again

   Close MTA, open it again and connect once more. A single failed attempt can come from a restart on the server or a short break in your own connection.

3. Use the official serial guide

   MTA publishes a page for serial validation problems. Follow that page rather than any tool that offers to change your serial.

4. Check your log if it keeps happening

   Paste the message, or MTA's core.log, into the Fix tool on this site. It runs on your own computer and points at the matching steps.
