GTA SA and MTA:SA fix guides

Step by step guides for the problems players meet most, each with the source for every step.

All fix guides: starting MTA, crashes, connection, controls, sound and picture, other systems.
Setup: which GTA San Andreas works, Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, Android and iPhone, using mods.
Playing: low FPS, mouse not moving the camera, controllers, lag and high ping, black screen at start.
GTA San Andreas on PC: mouse not working, cannot find 800x600x32 video mode, black screen after Alt-Tab, will not start, widescreen, too fast at high FPS, will not save, no sound or missing songs, controllers, Skimmer missing on Windows 11.

Look up an MTA:SA error code

MTA shows a short code with most of its errors. Every published code has its own page here, in plain words, with the steps that help and a note on what it does not mean. The tool above does the same thing for a whole log file, on your own computer.

Every MTA:SA error code: CD, CC and CL dialog codes, AC, VF and SD anti-cheat codes.
Crash codes and offsets: what the exception code and the offset in a crash message mean.
Script and resource numbers: browser, download, fatal and fetchRemote values for resource writers.

Common ones: CD20, CD08, CL22, CL24, CL29, CC50, AC#4, SD#14, SD#31.
