What it means

Servers deliver their scripts, models and images over HTTP while you connect. The download can fail because of your connection, a full drive, security software, or the server's own download host.

A CD code appears when a connection to a server fails, is refused, or ends. Most of them carry a second line with the server's own reason. MTA's own documentation gives this code as HTTP download failure.

How to fix it

Work down the list and stop when it is solved.

1. Try the connection again

   Close MTA, open it again and connect once more. A single failed attempt can come from a restart on the server or a short break in your own connection.

2. Check space and security software

   Make sure the drive MTA is on has room, and that no security tool is blocking MTA's downloads. Add MTA as an exception only if you can see it is the thing blocking them.

3. Check your own connection

   Open a web page on the same computer. If other things are also failing, fix the connection first. A working website does not prove a game server is reachable, but a broken one explains a lot.

4. Install the current MTA update

   Close MTA and run the current installer from multitheftauto.com. Several connection codes are simply an old client meeting a newer server.

5. Check your log if it keeps happening

   Paste the message, or MTA's core.log, into the Fix tool on this site. It runs on your own computer and points at the matching steps.
