What it means

GTA's settings file can stop the game opening, for example after a resolution change. Resetting it is the documented fix for that case.

CL codes come from MTA's launcher, before the game starts: installing an update, finding GTA, loading MTA's own files or starting gta_sa.exe. MTA's own documentation gives this code as Settings-reset prompt.

How to fix it

Work down the list and stop when it is solved.

1. Accept the reset

   Letting MTA reset GTA's settings puts the game back to defaults. You lose your graphics and control settings, nothing else.

2. Or delete gta_sa.set yourself

   It lives in Documents, GTA San Andreas User Files. The game writes a fresh one next time it starts.
