CIT fix

No sound, or sound disappears at low FPS

If all sound is gone, restart MTA. If not, check the volume and the setting that matches when the sound disappears.

Steps

  1. Restart MTA if all sound is gone

If MTA has lost all sound, close it and open it again when you can leave the session. Then test the sound again.

  2. Turn up a volume that is at 0

Only if a volume is at 0 and you want to hear that sound.

Press ESC, open Settings, then Audio. Look at Master volume and at the volume for the kind of sound that is missing. Also look at the matching sound option in /settings. Raise only the values that are set to 0.

  3. Change the low FPS sound setting

Only if the sound disappears only when your FPS falls.

Type /settings and open Sound Performance. Look at the Disable … When FPS Below option that matches your sound, and also at Disable All Sounds When FPS Below. Change that value only if you want to change when the sound turns off.

  4. Untick the minimized mute option

Only if the sound disappears only while MTA is minimized and the matching option is ticked.

Press ESC, open Settings, then Audio. Untick only the matching Mute … sounds when minimized option, if you want that sound while minimized.

Worth knowing

CIT has no player voice chat. The MTA Voice volume setting cannot turn it on.
