The '''Hunter''' job in CIT is one of the more complex and exciting roles. It involves hunting deer in various forests, tracking their traces, and ensuring the proper use of equipment to make a successful kill. This job rewards players with money, meat, and job progress for each deer hunted. Progress through the levels to become a master hunter, while gaining experience and better rewards along the way.

=== How to Get the Job ===
Hunter is a civilian job where you follow traces, hunt deer north of Angel Pine, and collect meat as your reward.
To get started as a Hunter, head to '''Angel Pine''', which is located north of the town. You can use '''/gps''' to mark the job location on your map. Once there, enter the job marker to start your role as a Hunter.

=== Job Location ===
== Overview ==

* '''Location''': North of Angel Pine (can be marked using '''/gps > Jobs > Hunter''').
Hunter is a resource job on the Civilian side.

----
You start a hunt, track the deer area, stay quiet while searching, then kill the deer and collect meat.

=== How to Hunt Deer ===
The job is paid entirely in meat.
The hunting process involves several steps, and you will need to carefully follow these to succeed.

==== Step 1: Use the Decoy ====
== How To Start ==

* Press '''N''' to start the decoy process. A red crosshair will appear on the map, indicating the hunting area.
To become a Hunter:
* Once you are in the general vicinity, the deer’s traces will appear on the map as '''green blips'''.

==== Step 2: Track the Deer ====
# Go north of Angel Pine.

* '''Traces''': You need to find at least '''5 traces''' before the deer’s location becomes visible.
# Stand on the Hunter job marker.
* As you approach the deer, be mindful of your noise meter—if it rises too high, the deer will escape.
* '''Tip''': Crouch or walk to reduce noise, avoiding running or driving vehicles near the hunting area.

==== Step 3: Find the Deer ====
# Press F.

* Once you have found 5 traces, a '''red circle''' will appear on the map, indicating the exact location of the deer.
After taking the job:
* Approach the deer carefully—if you get too close, the deer will escape.
* Once you spot the deer, use one of the following weapons to hunt it:
** '''Sniper Rifle'''
** '''Country Rifle'''
** '''Pump Shotgun''' (Note: Using the shotgun results in a 70% reward due to contamination of the meat).

==== Step 4: Collect Your Reward ====
# Go outside.

* After killing the deer, go to its corpse to collect your rewards: '''money''', '''meat''', and '''100kg of job progress'''.
# Press N to start the hunt.
* You can then repeat the process by pressing '''N''' to reset and search for a new deer.

----
# Follow the marked search area.

=== Vehicles ===
== How It Works ==

* '''Dune''' and '''Sanchez''' are the two vehicles you can use for this job. You may also use your own vehicle or a '''jetpack''' for quicker access to the hunting zones.
The Hunter job works like this:
* '''Tip''': Many hunters prefer using the '''jetpack''' as it provides a fast and efficient way to reach the areas without the risk of scaring the deer.

----
# Take the job.

=== Weapons ===
# Press N to start the hunt and mark the search area.

* You have three available weapons for hunting:
# Travel to the marked area.
*# '''Sniper Rifle'''
*# '''Country Rifle''' (recommended for higher fire rate and accuracy)
*# '''Pump Shotgun''' (not recommended as it decreases reward by 30% due to contamination of meat)

----
# Continue on foot.
