SMS
SMS is the private messaging system in CIT. It is used to send direct messages to other players whether they are online or offline.
Overview
`SMS` is used for:
- sending private messages to a player
- replying to the last private message
- sending quick private messages through `CITPhone`
- receiving offline messages after logging in
If the target player is online:
- they see the message right away
If the target player is offline:
- they receive it when they log in
How to send an SMS
To send a private message, use:
/sms [player name] [message]
This sends a direct private message to the selected player.
How to reply
To reply to the last SMS conversation, use:
/re [message]
This is the reply command for private messages.
Online and offline SMS
SMS works for both online and offline players.
Online player
If the player is online:
- they receive the message immediately
Offline player
If the player is offline:
- the message is stored
- they receive it when they log in
Offline SMS messages appear in:
/notifications
Quick SMS
`CITPhone` includes a quick way to use SMS.
To send a quick private message:
- open `CITPhone`
- open the `Quick SMS` app
You can also use:
/re [message]
for a quick reply
SMS in CIT Messenger
`CIT Messenger` also works with private messaging.
To open it:
- press
F10 - or use
/messenger
From there, you can:
- chat with players
- set a contact as your default
/retarget
Default reply target
You can set a default reply target in `CIT Messenger`.
To do that:
- open `CIT Messenger`
- select the contact
- use `Set this contact as default /re`
This changes who /re replies to by default.
SMS chat tab
The `J` chat interface includes an:
- `SMS` tab
If you are missing SMS chat messages:
- press
J - open the `SMS` tab
- make sure `Show in chatbox` is enabled
SMS alerts
SMS alerts can be managed in the settings.
To manage them:
- open
/settings - go to `SMS & Friends`
This section controls:
- SMS alerts
- friend login notifications
- friend logout notifications

- SMS is the direct private messaging system in CIT.
