CIT Map Guide

CIT Map Guide is a static map guide. It lets you search CIT places, filter marker types and regions, check what each icon means, open the wiki for more information, and report wrong markers.

Do not treat every CIT Map Guide icon as a visible in game marker. Some map entries are only places or GPS style destinations.

The F11 map shows your position and important map markers.

Gangsters can also use it to see:

  • turfs

In LS, you may need to zoom in more to see turf information clearly.

GPS waypoints

The F11 map can place GPS waypoints.

Place a waypoint

To place a GPS waypoint:

  • click a destination on F11

Remove a waypoint

A GPS waypoint stays visible when you arrive. Open /gps and click Stop GPS to remove it. The map's help text says To remove the GPS waypoint press on M.

Team sharing

In Battle Royale, right click F11 to place a waypoint your team can see. In the main dimension, right click does nothing; left click places only your personal GPS waypoint.

Warping from the map

Some destinations on the F11 map support warping.

To warp there:

  • double click a destination on F11

Warping only works:

  • if that destination supports warping

Apartment use

F11 also has a teleport that works only inside your apartment.

While already inside your apartment:

  • press F11
  • double click a spot on the map

This teleports you:

This does not work as normal world travel.

Turfs on the F11 map

Gangsters can use F11 to check turfs.

General turf view

Gangsters can see turf areas on the map.

Open /settings and go to Interface > RADAR / MINI-MAP / F11 MAP. Show LS Turfs chooses when LS turfs appear on your minimap and F11 map. The options are Show only when Gangster, Show all the time, and Hide all the time. The default is Show only when Gangster.

LS turf cluster map

In LS, zooming in on F11 can show:

  • turf clusters instead of single turfs

This is used to reduce clutter.

Cluster text is visible only to:

  • gangsters

Reading turf info

If LS turfs do not show clearly:

  • zoom in more on F11

The owner label can also show:

Group and alliance names on F11

There is a setting for showing names on the F11 map.

To show group and alliance member names on F11:

  • open /settings
  • find Enable Group/Alliance Member Names in F11
  • set it to Group and Alliance

You can also disable that setting.

Radar and map related settings

The Interface > RADAR / MINI-MAP / F11 MAP section in /settings includes map related settings connected to the map and minimap system.

Listed settings include:

  • Radar Image
  • Radar Plane Instruments
  • Minimap Zoom
  • Minimap Zoom Out When Fast
  • Player Blip Distance
  • Minimap Blips Size
  • Job Vehicle Spawn Visible Distance

Radar Image

Radar Image controls which radar image file your minimap uses.

It also supports a custom image in:

  • mods/deathmatch/resources/CITradar/images/

After changing it:

  • use F11 to refresh the map if needed

Map limits

  • F11 is the full map, not the /gps panel.
  • Some destinations support double click warping, but not all of them.
  • Gangster turf information on F11 depends on zoom level in some areas, especially LS.
  • Apartment double click teleport only works while you are already inside your apartment.
  • The Law Farm blip enters the Law Farm interior only after you are already at Law Farm. Use GPS, Rapid Transport, or normal driving to reach the exterior.

CITmap Counts

These counts come from the CITmap data. Use them as quick count summaries only. Some CITmap icons are custom.

Other means counties, small towns, airports, sea points, or non city areas as labelled in CITmap.

Job blip notes

  • Zooming in on a job blip on F11 shows the job name.

Factory and job markers

F11 shows named world job markers and factory blips. Use the map filters to show or hide factory markers. Press F11 again to close the map.

Named factory labels

Zoom in to see names beside factory icons. Visible labels include Chemicals Factory, Electronics Factory, Engine Parts Factory, and Nitrous Factory.

Police Chief law blips

Police Chiefs can use /lawblip map to place a blue shield law blip through the F11 map. /lawblip delete removes their law blip.

Player blip colors

Police blips are blue (#1E90FF), Civilians yellow, Criminals red, and Gangsters purple. Wanted Criminal blips are brighter red; wanted Gangster blips are darker purple. A group blip uses that member's job color. See side blips and overhead labels.

Restore the map key

Open /sbinds, find F11 Map Key under Function Keys, and assign F11 or another key. This is the CIT world map bind.

Map image, font and radar controls

Open /settings and go to Interface > RADAR / MINI-MAP / F11 MAP, then use F11 Text Font. A supplied font is gtav.ttf. For another font, place its file in your MTA installation's mods/deathmatch/resources/CITradar/fonts/ folder and enter the filename. Leave the field empty to remove the selected custom font. The default is an empty field.

Radar Image in /settings under Interface > RADAR / MINI-MAP / F11 MAP changes the image used by both the minimap and the F11 map. The default is map-hd.png; map.png is another supplied image. Enter the image filename and press F11 to refresh it.

For a custom image, place it in your MTA installation's mods/deathmatch/resources/CITradar/images/ folder and enter its filename with the extension.

Open /settings and go to Interface > RADAR / MINI-MAP / F11 MAP. Radar Disc selects the minimap border image. Supplied choices include square.png, disc.png, vdisc.png, gdisc.png, and bdisc.png.

For a custom border, place its image in your MTA installation's mods/deathmatch/resources/CITradar/disc/ folder and enter its filename. Leave the field empty to remove the border. The default is an empty field.

Personal, team and group waypoints

In Battle Royale, right click the F11 map to add a waypoint your team can see; the help text says To add waypoint visible for your team right click. In the main dimension, right click does nothing. Left click places only your personal GPS waypoint, which is not shared. Group destinations are a separate system:

  • /mgd, then choose the destination on the F11 map, sets a group destination blip; your group rank needs permission to manage it.
  • /mgd name attaches a destination blip to a group member and follows them as they move. To make yourself the MGD, use /mgd <your nickname>; if you lack the permission, ask an authorized group member to mark your nickname.
  • Groups can create multiple destination blips.
  • /mgd remove <number> removes one numbered blip, and /mgd remove is the basic group marker removal command.
