- Sign up for the next race
- Auto join races until you cancel or reconnect

How Racing Works
Racing in CIT is based on public races through the race panel.
Race types include:
- Circuit races
- Sprint races
- Special event races
While you are in a race, the maximum FPS is:
70
The cap exists because higher FPS makes you drive slightly faster. That is unfair for players with less FPS.
The gap between races is 10 seconds.
The race countdown starts as soon as all players have loaded.
Race winnings always use the Civilian earn limit: $450,000 per real-life hour, or $540,000 with VIP, regardless of your team. The hourly counter is shared across activities. The payment crossing the limit is cut to the remaining amount, then subsequent cash pays 10%; resource rewards stop. Hourly Double Earnings or a Double Earnings token doubles the limit.
Over the earn limit, the race message still shows the usual amount, but no Engine Parts are added until the next hour starts.

- Racing settings are found in
/settings. - At Level 10, you unlock
/go Racer.
Race reward selection
Use /race to open Race Information. In Sign Up, choose Engine Parts or Nitrous as the reward without cancelling automatic sign-up. Nitrous pays 25x the Engine Parts prize. Use /leaveevent to leave an active race.
Race HUD and job access
Racer does not have a public job marker. Open /race, join races, and keep racing to unlock the job. Race wins count toward Racer progress even while another job is active. At Racer Level 10, /go Racer opens a panel with skin ID 257, Use personal skin, and Have Job.
During a race, Race Position and Checkpoints use progress bars. Race Position shows the current place and number of racers, but is hidden when racing alone. A white or gray flag marks the current checkpoint, a red flag marks the following checkpoint, and a trophy marks the finish.
Maps can use different vehicles and checkpoint totals. Examples include North West Los Santos Track, Wu Zi Mu Track, Los Santos South West Track, East Los Santos Track, Palomino Creek Circuit, LS Docks, SAC Tunnel, Donuts Track, Race 2 Track, Race to the Hilltop Farm, Race to Mulholland, The Hills are Alive, Rollercoaster to the Hip Town, Tunnel Vision, Blueberry Track, Santa Maria Beach Track, and Julius Thruway East Track; this is not the full map list. The start message identifies the map and drivetrain. Racer has more than 300 maps and vehicles. Reaching 0% vehicle health or leaving the race vehicle causes disqualification. Being idle for 1 minute removes you and cancels automatic sign-up.
Map ratings run from 1 - Terrible to 5 - Great and affect how often a map appears. Race Rating Requirement skips ratings lower than the selected setting.
Current race participation rules
The Racer job is assigned only when you finish a race while unemployed. If you already have another job, you keep it, but the win still counts toward Racer progress.
Publicly released race maps cannot be edited. Players who already finished or left can still see the first, second, and third place winners. Boat races are not available through /race.
Resource prizes and cash conversion
With Engine Parts selected in /race, the resource rewards are fixed by finishing position:
- 1st:
12 Engine Parts, plus the full cash prize. - 2nd:
9 Engine Parts, plus75%of the cash prize. - 3rd:
6 Engine Parts, plus50%of the cash prize. - 4th:
3 Engine Parts, plus25%of the cash prize.
5th place gets 25% of the cash prize; 6th place and above get 15%. The cash prize is paid out as Engine Parts, converted at the current average sale price of engine parts, and the listed Engine Parts amounts are paid on top of that converted share. You can choose Nitrous instead, which pays 25x the corresponding Engine Parts reward.
Each racer adds to the prize, so the prize pool grows with the number of racers. Each place gets its fixed Engine Parts plus its share of the pool, rounded up.
Example totals with 2 racers: 1st place gets 24 Engine Parts or 600 Nitrous, and 2nd place gets 18 Engine Parts or 450 Nitrous. With 3 racers, 1st place gets 30 Engine Parts or 750 Nitrous.
Race development
For race development and map work, use the race development board.
Race drive type
Racing Drive Type, under /settings > General > RACING, selects the drive type used in races: AWD means all wheel drive, FWD means front wheel drive, and RWD means rear wheel drive. The default is AWD.
Race voting and repeated races
Open /race, go to the Races tab, select a race and use Vote. Voted maps take priority unless there are more signed up players than players who voted for that race. You can vote for the same race over and over, but you are not paid if you do the same race twice within 10 minutes.
Races use over 300 maps with different vehicles and checkpoint counts.
Race Information tabs
Normal players see Sign Up and Races. Staff also have Editor and Editor Help. The Races tab contains search, filters, records and available Vote, Rate, Favourite, or Warp actions.
