CIT Messenger

CIT Messenger is the in game messaging panel in CIT. It is opened with F10 or /messenger and is used for private messaging, contact management, and chat rooms.

Messenger basics

Action Use Notes
Open Messenger F10, /messenger, or the Messenger X button. The left side has Players, Friends, and Rooms.
Set default reply target Select the contact, then use Set this contact as default /re. This controls the default /re target.
Rooms Use Rooms to search, join, leave, create, or manage rooms. Room messages show as (Room name) Player: <message>.
Attachments Attachments dropdown. Attachments do not seem to work reliably right now.
Friends tab Use the search box. The Friends tab has a search box.

Messenger Uses

CIT Messenger is used for:

  • viewing player contacts
  • messaging players
  • messaging friends
  • joining and creating chat rooms
  • managing chat rooms
  • setting a default reply target

How to open it

You can open CIT Messenger by:

  • pressing F10
  • using /messenger

Layout

CIT Messenger has:

  • Players
  • Friends
  • Rooms

The main panel has:

  • Messages
  • Chat rooms

Players and Friends

The left side of CIT Messenger includes:

  • Players
  • Friends

From there, you can select contacts and chat with them.

Messages

The Messages section is used for direct conversations.

You can use it to:

  • chat with selected contacts
  • manage your reply target

Default /re target

CIT Messenger can set a default contact for:

  • /re

To do that:

  • open CIT Messenger
  • select the contact
  • use Set this contact as default /re

Rooms

The Rooms tab is used for public or shared chat rooms.

From Rooms, you can:

  • search for a room
  • select a room
  • join a room
  • leave a room
  • create a new room

Joining and leaving rooms

To use a chat room:

  • open CIT Messenger
  • go to Rooms
  • search or select a room
  • use Join selected, Leave selected, or Create new

Chat rooms tab

The Chat rooms tab shows room messages in this format:

  • (Room name) Player: <message>

It also includes:

  • Manage selected room

Managing a room

To manage a room:

  • open CIT Messenger
  • go to Rooms
  • select the room
  • use Manage selected room

The room management panel lets you manage:

  • room members
  • moderators
  • hex code toggling
  • the room password

Room moderators

Room moderators can:

  • make other players moderators
  • demote the selected player
  • kick the selected player
  • enable or disable hex codes in the room

Players with orange names in the room member list are:

  • the room moderators

Room password

To set a room password:

  • open CIT Messenger
  • go to Rooms
  • select the room
  • open Manage selected room
  • use Set pass

Attachments

CIT Messenger has:

  • an Attachments dropdown

Attachments do not seem to work reliably right now.

Messenger Notes

  • CIT Messenger is opened with F10 or /messenger.
  • It includes both direct messaging and chat room features.
  • It can set your default contact for /re.
  • The Attachments dropdown exists, but attachment support is not reliable right now.

  • /discord and /rpc were merged into one GUI, Rich Presence customization is in /rpc, and the Discord app is in CITPhone.
  • /gradio panel fields, tabs, volume controls, and buttons from the Group Radio GUI.
  • /gradio recently played songs are saved on script restart and can be deleted by double right clicking.
  • Ignored players cannot mark you through CITPhone Mark Players and you do not get a message when an ignored player tries to send money.
  • J kill messages show kill streaks as x2, x3, and x4, and that streak means kills close together in time.
  • CITBook has a Sent Requests button.
  • The /mplayer songs lookup as saving songs played by other players without changing command facts.
  • Custom stream addresses work for personal radio, house radio, apartment radio, and car radio.
  • /highlights lets players add words that alert them when those words appear in chat.
  • Highlight alert options for sound, idle or minimized notification, tray icon flash, minimized desktop notification, volume, sound choice, and text to speech language.
  • Dynamic highlight tokens :nick:, :account:, :group:, :squad:, :team:, and :occupation:.
  • (note) in /highlights notifies the player when an admin note is taken.
  • /mplayer songs for adding songs played by others to playlists and playing playlists from the speaker system Speaker tab.
  • /mplayer can set the current time in a music file.
  • /mplayer has a CIT2 Radio songs browser.
  • The F10 Friends tab has a search box.
  • Pressing X and clicking a speaker toggles playing.
  • Speakers from ignored players do not appear.
  • Speakers cannot be placed within 12 meters of another speaker.
  • Support Non-English is used in J chat for non-English support.
  • Support and Support Non-English chatbox message colors can be changed in settings.
  • CIT2Radio DJs can use /djc <text> to talk in official DJ chat.
  • Main Chat uses /main [message], T opens Country Chat, Y opens Team Chat, U opens Local Chat, chat keys can be changed in /settings > Binds, and Main Chat messages appear above the player's head.
  • CIT Messenger Q/A mention the Messenger X button.
  • /dverify syncs the player's Discord account with CIT and /dunverify unlinks it.
  • Players can use /locf or start local chat with [].
  • Group members can see local friends chat.
  • /bind KEY chatbox locf binds it.
  • Police codes convert to text in /e and /codes shows the list.
  • Muted players can SMS friends unless it is a full mute.
  • /smsmute <player> <reason> shows the SMS mute reason to that player.
  • /urls opens the CITurls panel and shows links passed onto your screen.
  • The panel can copy a selected link or all links.
  • /urls last adds the last URL sent in the chatbox to your clipboard.
  • Ignore coverage includes X click player, /ignore GUI, /unignore, /ignorelist, and J > Ignored.
  • /r job radio supported jobs: Pilot, Bus Driver, Delivery Man, Fisherman, Lumberjack, Mechanic, News Reporter, Waste Manager, Trucker, and Fire Fighter.
  • CITBook friends can SMS you when your SMS setting allows friends.
  • X click player shortcut to add someone as a CITBook friend.
  • /offsms <account> <text> and /smsmute <player> <reason> SMS mute reason behavior.
  • /urls CITurls panel details, include copied screen links, selected or all link copying, and /urls last.
