What it means

CL codes come from MTA's launcher, before the game starts: installing an update, finding GTA, loading MTA's own files or starting gta_sa.exe. MTA's own documentation gives this code as GTA termination failed.

How to fix it

Work down the list and stop when it is solved.

Longer version, with a source on every step: Another MTA or GTA instance is already running.

1. End gta_sa.exe yourself

   Open Task Manager, end gta_sa.exe, then start MTA again.

2. Copy the whole message first

   Write down every line MTA shows, not only the code. The rest of the message often names the file, the server or the reason, and that is what tells you which step below applies.

3. Repair your MTA installation

   Run the current installer from multitheftauto.com over your existing installation. It replaces MTA's own files without touching your settings.
