What it means

It usually follows a partial update, or files copied in from another installation.

CL codes come from MTA's launcher, before the game starts: installing an update, finding GTA, loading MTA's own files or starting gta_sa.exe. MTA's own documentation gives this code as File-version mismatch.

How to fix it

Work down the list and stop when it is solved.

1. Repair your MTA installation

   Run the current installer from multitheftauto.com over your existing installation. It replaces MTA's own files without touching your settings.

2. Install MTA fresh if it repeats

   Uninstall MTA, delete what is left of its folder, and install the current version from multitheftauto.com.
