Bank transfer fails: cannot send money to a player

Type the account name with the right capital letters and check your balance. A weekly limit or transfer restrictions can also stop a transfer: look in the Event Times app of your CITPhone (B).

Steps

  1. Enter the transfer details correctly

Type /bank, or open an ATM, and go to the Transfer tab. The account name is case-sensitive: capital and small letters must match. You can pick an online player from the searchable list, or type an offline account name. Enter the amount, your PIN if you set one, and a reason, then use Review Transfer.

  2. Check your bank balance

Type /bankbalance, or press X and use Bank Balance, or open an ATM. A transfer fails if you do not have enough money.

  3. Check your limits in Event Times

Press B to open the CITPhone and open the Event Times app. It shows your weekly bank send and receive limits. A transfer can fail because you reached your weekly send limit, or because you have transfer restrictions for rule violations.

  4. If others cannot send money to you

Only if other players cannot send money to you.

You may have reached your weekly receive limit, or you may have transfer restrictions for rule violations. Check the Event Times app in your CITPhone (B).

  5. Use the bank, not the old phone app

Only if you are looking for the CITPhone Money Transfer app or /amt.

CITPhone money transfers were turned off in May 2024 and the Money Transfer app was removed. Send money through the bank with /bank, /atm or /mobileatm instead.

Worth knowing

Weekly send limits: $400,000,000 without a Donator Level, $500,000,000 with DL1, $600,000,000 with DL2 and $700,000,000 with DL3.

Weekly receive limits by play time: less than 20 hours $20,000,000, less than 80 hours $100,000,000, less than 400 hours $250,000,000, less than 1000 hours $400,000,000, and $500,000,000 at 1000 hours or more.

The play-time limits also apply when you send money to an offline account.

Without the Safe Online Banking course, /bank cannot deposit or withdraw, but its other tabs, such as Transfer, stay open.

A transfer can include a note, unless the sender is muted.

Forgot your PIN? Open the Account Retrieval Board and make a recovery topic with proof that the account is yours. If the request is accepted, an ARM can reset the PIN.
