CIT fix

Mining job: cannot mine, no resources left, or rock too far

As a Cave Miner, Iron Miner (LV Miner) or LS Miner, mining does not start, the area has nothing left, or the game says the rock is too far away. Find your job and the message you see in the steps below.

The messages

You are not facing a surface! Face a rocky wall then press 'LMB'

This area was overly mined. No resources left here, go elsewhere!

This rock is too far away!

Search for better mining zones

Steps

  1. Cave Miner: face a rocky wall

    Only if it says you are not facing a surface.

    Stand facing a rocky wall, then press the left mouse button (LMB).

  2. Cave Miner: move to a better zone

    Only if the Cave Miner HUD says Search for better mining zones.

    You are not at a usable surface. Move through the mining zones shown on the radar.

  3. Iron Miner: go to another mining area

    Only if Iron Miner (LV Miner) says the area was overly mined.

    That mining area has no resources left. Move to another mining area to continue.

  4. LS Miner: move closer to the rock

    Only if it says This rock is too far away!

    The rock is outside mining range. Walk closer, then select the rock again.

  5. Cave Miner: bring Explosives for Iron or Gold

    Only if you mine Iron or Gold as a Cave Miner.

    Bring Explosives when you mine Iron or Gold. Each Iron or Gold mining action uses 2 Explosives. If you have none, mine Sulfur Rock first to get Explosives.

  6. Cave Miner: lower the water for Underwater Rock

    Only if the rock is under water.

    Take 1 Jerry Can to a red pump marker. When the game says Press 'N' to use a Jerry Can and refuel the pump, press N. The marker turns green and the water level drops, so you can reach and mine the rock.

Worth knowing

Cave Miner: at 20% Integrity a mining zone stops working. The cave does not collapse.

LS Miner: when the mine is used up, everyone inside is warped out and a new mine with a different layout replaces it.
