MTA:SA fix

Your MTA serial: what it is and how to see it

A serial is the 32-character code MTA uses to recognise your computer. Servers use it for bans. You can read yours in the console.

Steps

Try one step, then check whether the problem is still there. Follow any "only if" line before changing a setting.

  1. See your serial

Open the console with F8 and type serial. MTA answers with a line that starts "Your serial is:".

  2. What it is

MTA's wiki says a serial is 32 letters and numbers that identify the PC a player uses. It exists so servers can ban a computer, because an IP address can change.

  3. It stays with the computer

The wiki says many players keep the same serial for six years or longer, unless they move to another PC. Internet café computers can share one serial.

  4. Serial changers

MTA says changing a serial is very difficult because of its protections. MTA's forum has reports of players kicked with the message "AC #4 SERIAL CHANGE / SPOOFER". The serial validation page warns that serial changing and spoofing software can stop MTA from starting, and advises reinstalling Windows after using it.

Careful: A changed serial does not lift a ban. For a ban, use the ban fix in this tool to find who issued it.

  5. When to share it

A serial identifies your computer, and MTA's wiki warns that someone else could misuse one. MTA staff ask you to mention it when you report a wrongly flagged PC. Give it to MTA or server staff in a support or ban case, not in public chat.

Still stuck? The Fix tool reads MTA's own log on your computer and points at the matching steps. Nothing is uploaded.
