Music Player

MPlayer is the built in music player in CIT. It lets you play music in your house, apartment, or car using direct audio links, playlists, and playback controls.

Music Player notes

The Music Player supports:

  • direct .mp3 links
  • playlists
  • volume control
  • playback speed
  • shuffle
  • next and previous song controls
  • play and stop controls
  • vehicle music
  • effects

You can open it with:

  • /mplayer
  • the Music Player in CITPhone

Where it can be used

/mplayer can be used in:

  • your house
  • your apartment
  • your car

If music is playing in a house or apartment:

  • players inside the same property can hear it

Other music systems use different commands:

  • /cityzoneradio for a CITy zone
  • /gradio for a group interior
  • /mymusic <webAddressOfStreamHere> to play music from a direct stream link in your house, apartment, or car

How to open MPlayer

To open the Music Player, use:

/mplayer

You can also open the same Music Player from:

  • CITPhone

Supported links

The Music Player uses direct audio links.

For YouTube or Spotify songs:

  • you need a direct MP3 link

A direct MP3 URL can be created with:

Playlists

MPlayer supports playlists.

Creating a playlist

To create a new playlist:

  • open the music player
  • click >>>
  • type the playlist name
  • click Add Playlist

Playing from a playlist

To play a song from a playlist, use:

/mplayer [songIndex] {playlistIndex}

Playback controls

MPlayer supports normal playback controls for music and playlists.

Play

Use:

/mplayer play

Stop

Use:

/mplayer stop

Next song

Use:

/mplayer next

Previous song

Use:

/mplayer prev

Shuffle controls

Shuffle current playlist

Use:

/mplayer random

Shuffle all playlists or songs

Use:

/mplayer random all

Volume and speed

Volume

To change volume, use:

/mplayer vol [0-100]

Playback speed

To change playback speed, use:

/mplayer speed [0-2]

/mplayer prev Go to the previous song

/mplayer [songIndex] {playlistIndex} Play a specific song, with an optional playlist index
/mymusic <webAddressOfStreamHere> Play music from a direct stream link in your house, apartment, or car

In /settings, the sound and music section includes:

  • Custom Car Music
  • Custom Apartment Music
  • Custom House Music

These control music streams for those locations.

Music Player details

  • MPlayer uses direct audio links, not normal YouTube or Spotify page links.
  • A direct MP3 link is needed for songs from YouTube or Spotify.
  • MPlayer is separate from the Radio app.
  • /mplayer is for houses, apartments, and cars.
