Cave Miner

Cave Miner is a civilian mining job at the foot of Mount Chiliad near Angel Pine.

How to work

Cave Miner is at the foot of Mount Chiliad. Take explosives into the cave and mine Iron or Gold surfaces with left click. The job places TNT automatically and resources are credited when collected.

Important rules

Topic Current fact
Resources Iron, Gold, and Explosives
Explosives source Buy explosives from F7 or get them from sulfur rocks inside the cave
Explosives use Mining Iron or Gold consumes 2 Explosives; mining sulfur gives Explosives
Integrity Each zone becomes unusable at 20% Integrity; the cave does not collapse
Underwater rocks Use 1 Jerry Can at the red pump marker and press N to drain water
Jetpack Jetpack cannot be used while working as Cave Miner
Skin IDs 27, 260, 1032

How the job works

Cave Miner is a mining and resource job.

You enter the cave, mine Iron or Gold surfaces, and collect resources directly from loose rocks.

The job can give:

How to start

To start working as a Cave Miner:

  1. Take the Cave Miner job.
  2. Go inside the cave with explosives.
  3. Mine Iron or Gold surfaces with left click; TNT is placed automatically.

You can buy explosives from F7 or get them from sulfur rocks inside the cave.

How it works

The main Cave Miner loop is:

  1. Take the job.
  2. Enter the cave.
  3. Find mineable rocks.
  4. Mine Iron or Gold surfaces with left click; TNT is placed automatically.
  5. Wait for the TNT to explode.
  6. Walk over the loose rock to collect it; resources are credited immediately.

Resources

Cave Miner can give:

  • Iron
  • Gold
  • Explosives

Integrity

Integrity is tracked separately for each mining zone and decreases as its surface is mined.

At 20% Integrity, that zone becomes unusable. The cave does not collapse.

Underwater Rocks

Cave Miner also has underwater rocks.

To mine them:

  1. Go to the red pump marker.
  2. Have 1 Jerry Can.
  3. Press N to drain the water.
  4. Mine the underwater rocks.

Draining the water gives extra pay.

The underwater rocks can also give:

  • Gold

Rewards

The job gives resource rewards.

The resources are credited when you collect them; there is no drop-off. Progress and earn-limit value are credited at that time. The messages about resources collected in the last 30 seconds are summaries, not delayed rewards. They read like You collected 62 units of Iron in the last 30 seconds. and You collected 1 units of explosive in the last 30 seconds.

Skin

Cave Miner uses these skin IDs:

  • 27
  • 260
  • 1032

Pay facts

Resource Pay rule
Iron spots floor(47.6 * spots * VIP * Minerals)
Gold spots 3 per full rock without benefits; with Minerals alone use floor(3 * spots * 1.1). With VIP use 4 Gold per rock, so 3 spots give 12 Gold and 5 spots give 20. Drain bonus raises a normal single Gold rock from 3 to 4.
Sulfur or Explosives spots floor(1.5 * sulfurSpots * VIP * Minerals)
Drain bonus displayedYield + ceil(displayedYield * 0.2)

Iron and Gold TNT spots use 2 Explosives per spot, with no refund. Sulfur does not use TNT. Rank does not change the Cave Miner yield.

The Iron and Gold amounts are for full rocks. RICH, AVERAGE, and POOR quantity ratings affect yield, so a collection can be lower, for example 49 Iron instead of 62. Iron uses a fixed internal value of $44; VIP is 1.2 and Minerals is 1.1 for the Iron and Explosives formulas. A mining action takes 4 seconds.

Progression

Cave Miner shares its mining levels with Iron Miner.

Collect Iron, Gold, or Explosives to gain progress and rank up.

At Level 10, you unlock:

  • /go Cave Miner

Job Notes

  • Cave Miner is at the foot of Mount Chiliad near Angel Pine.
  • You need explosives to blast mineable rocks.
  • Explosives can be bought from F7 or collected from sulfur rocks inside the cave.
  • Integrity is tracked separately for each mining zone.
  • A zone becomes unusable at 20% Integrity; the cave does not collapse.
  • Underwater rocks need the water to be drained first.
  • Draining the water needs 1 Jerry Can.
  • Mined resources are credited when collected; there is no drop-off.
  • Cave Miner shares progression with Iron Miner.

Current cave workflow

Start at Mount Chiliad in Whetstone and use the nearby cave entrance. Press N at the local marker to return to the Employment Office. Use /leaveevent to leave the cave mine quickly. Mining zones show their Integrity and the HUD shows recent resources, level, progress, and earnings.

Inspect surfaces for their resource type and quantity rating. Mine Iron or Gold surfaces with left click. When mining finishes, the job automatically places TNT and uses 2 Explosives; there is no separate TNT placement control. Sulfur surfaces use the pickaxe without TNT and give Explosives. Walk over loose rock to inspect it and collect its resource.

The water pump uses 1 Jerry Can and lowers the water so underwater rocks can be reached. Integrity is tracked separately for each mining zone and decreases as its surface is mined. At 20% Integrity, that zone becomes unusable; the cave does not collapse. Jetpack cannot be used while working as Cave Miner.

Mining resources stop once you are over the hourly earn limit and resume at the next real-life hour. They are not reduced to a 10% resource payment.
