Dimensions

Dimensions are separate instances of the map in CIT. Players in different dimensions cannot see or interact with each other.

Overview

Dimensions are used to separate players, events, and places from the normal world or from each other.

In simple terms:

  • if two players are in different dimensions, they cannot see each other
  • if two players are in different dimensions, they cannot interact with each other
  • two places can use the same map space but still be separated by dimension

Dimensions are different from interiors.

An interior is an inside area such as a building interior. A dimension is a separate instance that keeps players and elements apart even if the place is reused.

Main idea

The normal server world is:

  • `Dimension 0`

Other dimensions are used for special places or activities.

This is why a player can be online and standing at the same map position as you, but still not be visible to you if they are in another dimension.

Confirmed dimensions in CIT

Dimension Use
`0` Main world
`1` Law Dimension
`6` Criminal Villa
`336` `CEM` events

What dimensions affect

Dimensions affect visibility and interaction.

If a player is in a different dimension:

  • you will not see them
  • you will not interact with them normally
  • they can be in the same map area but still be separated from you

This applies to players and to dimension-based areas and activities.

Dimensions and properties

Some private property systems also use separate dimensions.

For example:

  • your apartment is one shared apartment dimension for your account, even if you own multiple houses

This means the apartment is treated as its own separate space rather than being duplicated as a different apartment for every house you own.

Dimensions and interiors

Dimensions and interiors are not the same thing.

A place can use:

  • an interior
  • a dimension
  • both together

This is useful when the same inside map is reused more than once but still needs to stay separate for different players or systems.

Why you might not see someone

If your friend is online but you still cannot see them, one possible reason is that they are in another dimension.

This can happen even if:

  • both of you are at the same map location
  • both of you are online at the same time

Notes

  • Only the exact dimensions listed above are confirmed here.
  • `Dimension 0` is the normal world.
  • `Dimension 1` is the Law Dimension.
  • `Dimension 6` is the Criminal Villa.
  • `Dimension 336` is used for `CEM` events.
