Custom Maps and Mapping Rules in CIT

In CIT, players can request custom maps for their group bases, squad interiors, or criminal event (CE) locations. However, there are specific rules and guidelines that must be followed to ensure fair gameplay and consistency. Below are the rules for group and squad interiors as well as city-related and general mapping guidelines.

Mapping Rules

  1. General Mapping Guidelines:
    • DO NOT remove world objects if your group is under Level 6.
    • Even if your group is L6+, and your map isn't designed at its best quality, your request WILL BE REJECTED.
    • DO NOT resize objects.
    • The base size cannot be larger than 100x (width), 100y (depth), and 20z (height).
    • CITy bases cannot be requested outside the cities of Las Venturas and San Fierro.
    • Community groups (levels 2-5) can only have 1 interior marker and 1 gate.
    • Official groups (levels 6-10) can have up to 3 interior markers and 2 gates.
    • You CANNOT remove houses that have enterable house markers.
    • The Land Development team can reject your map request if the map is poorly designed or if it breaks basic physical rules (e.g., floating objects).
    • If your request is rejected, you can open another request again after 15 days.

City-Related Mapping Rules

  1. Los Santos (LS):
    • New map requests for Los Santos are not accepted unless you're moving your base out of LS or editing it to reduce the number of objects.
    • DO NOT map anything near: Dillimore, Blueberry, Montgomery, or Palomino Creek.
  2. San Fierro and Surrounding Rural/Desert Areas:
    • All global rules apply.
    • You are limited to 50 objects or less for a normal base.
    • For a CITy base, the object limit is 150 objects.
    • You are allowed to request a CITy base, but please ensure that it is located out of the way in San Fierro. Avoid placing it in crowded areas or near job markers.
  3. Las Venturas and War Islands (Sea):
    • All global rules apply.
    • You are limited to 50 objects or less for a normal base.
    • For a CITy base, the object limit is 150 objects.
    • Your base must be mapped considerably far from a turf to allow easy access to and from turfs.
    • If your base has an underground area, it must NOT be inside or near a turf. Instant denial of the base request.
    • Your base must not have any UNFAIR access to a turf.

Group Interior Rules

  1. Interior Objects:
    • Interior objects must be placed around the interior marker. The maximum number of objects you can place around the interior marker is 10.
    • Objects like bars or generally interior-related objects should not be placed outside the interior.
    • Avoid mapping random buildings on top of other buildings or creating overly large buildings that obscure smaller buildings and map features.
    • Mapped interiors must contain a maximum of 110 objects inside.
    • An interior should use GTA:SA map buildings to their best, without adding poorly designed elements. The Land Development team will be strict in evaluating interior map quality, so be aware that poorly designed interiors may be rejected.

Squad Interior Rules

  1. Squad Interiors:
    • Everything related to group interiors applies to squad interiors as well.
    • Only squads that have had a squad board for 4 months can apply for an interior.
    • The squad must have at least 50 members and at least 30 active members (logged in within the last 7 days).
    • The squad must have an active forum board. If a squad’s board isn’t active, the request will be rejected.
  2. Reapplying for Squad Interiors:
    • If your squad has recently lost its interior, you will need to wait 4 months before you can request a new one.

Miscellaneous Rules

  1. Group Activity Requirement:
    • The group must have had a sub-board for at least 1 month and must be actively posting. A board with no posts will indicate that the group is barely active and may be rejected.
  2. Gate Naming Convention:
    • Gates must be named using the format: "gate_status_ID", such as "gate_open_1" and "gate_close_1".
    • The gates should be positioned in the places where you want them to be opened or closed. If they are not named or positioned correctly, you will not be able to have moving gates.
  3. Additional Requests:
    • When submitting requests, use common sense in your mapping work. If common sense isn’t followed, your request may be rejected.
    • Not necessarily required: But it would be helpful if you upload the .map file from the saved map resource (the file containing meta.xml, mapEditorScriptingExtension files). This saves time during the upload process and reduces the space used.
    • No protection is allowed on submitted map files. If your uploaded file is detected by anti-virus software (like Windows Defender), your request will be rejected.
    • No passwords are allowed on submitted maps. Once the base is added to the server, it will be available for everyone to download and use.
    • It doesn't require a skilled mapper to copy an existing base. If someone blatantly copied your base and applied with it, they will be denied and blacklisted.
