Team Chat

Team Chat is the side chat channel in CIT. It is used to talk to players on your current team.

Overview

`Team Chat` is one of the main chat types in CIT.

It is used for:

  • talking to your current team
  • quick team coordination
  • team-only communication

It is separate from:

  • `Main Chat`
  • `Country Chat`
  • `Local Chat`

How to use Team Chat

You can use `Team Chat` in two ways.

Keybind

Press:

  • Y

This opens `Team Chat`.

Who can see Team Chat

`Team Chat` is for:

  • your current team

Only players on that team can see those messages.

Team channel in the J chat interface

`Team Chat` is also listed in the `J` chat interface.

To open the chat interface:

  • press J

The `J` chat interface includes:

  • `Team`

For the selected channel, the available options include:

  • `Show in Chatbox`
  • `Beep on Message`
  • `Line Select`

Language rule

`Team Chat` is:

  • English only

If you want to use another language:

  • use `Country Chat`

Posting non-English messages in `Team Chat` is punishable.

A listed mute reason includes:

  • posting at least 2 non-English messages in main or team chat

Rules

`Team Chat` follows the normal public chat language rule for English use.

The listed punishable misuse includes:

  • non-English use
  • spam
  • highly abusive words
  • racial insults
  • homophobic insults
  • political or current-conflict talk
  • drama bait
  • harmful lying

Chatbox setting

There is a dedicated setting for `Team Chat` visibility in the chatbox.

To change it:

  • open /settings
  • go to `Chat Box Text`
  • change `Disable Team Chat in Chatbox`

This setting controls whether `Team Chat` appears in the normal chatbox.

Notes

  • `Y` is the default key for `Team Chat`.
  • `Team Chat` is English only.
  • `Team Chat` is listed as its own channel in the `J` chat interface.
  • `Disable Team Chat in Chatbox` only affects chatbox visibility, not the team chat system itself.
