Rules
Rules in CIT include both in-game rules and forum rules. These rules cover chat, gameplay, exploits, trading, harmful behavior, forum posting, and account or serial-related abuse.

The rules in CIT mainly split into:
- in-game rules
- forum rules
Some rule breaks lead to:
- mutes
- jail
- bans
- account limitations
- serial limitations
- forum warnings
- forum mutes
In-game rules
Public chat rules
Public chat includes places such as:
- main chat
- team chat
- car chat
Car chat follows the same rules as main and team chat.
Main public chat rules include:
- no spam
- no server advertising
- no racism or hate speech
- no insulting players or their families
- no religious or political arguing
- no caps flooding
- English only in main chat
Language rules
Main and team chat are English only.
For other languages:
- use `Country Chat`
Using at least `2` non-English messages in main or team chat can get you muted.
Support Chat rules
`Support Chat` is for CIT-related help.
Allowed topics include:
- commands
- jobs
- systems
- rules
- forums
- other CIT-related questions
Not allowed in `Support Chat`:
- spam
- trolling
- unserious questions
- unrelated questions
- warning other players
- dragging out side conversations
- using non-English
- spamming quotes or symbols
- breaking any other server rule there
Only staff can warn or punish players in `Support Chat`.
Swearing and insults
Some swearing such as `fuck` can be acceptable in normal conversation.
These are still not allowed:
- harassment
- family insults
- server insults
- racism
- hate speech
- real life identity insults
- body shaming
- homophobic insults
- racial insults
Making fun of a player's punishment is not punishable by itself, unless it becomes harassment.
Politics and religion
Political and religious arguments in public chat are not allowed.
This falls under:
- `#H`
Political or non-game provoking messages in /superadvert are also not allowed.
Spam and flooding
The following are punishable:
- repeated words
- repeated dots
- emoji flooding
- random letters
- caps flooding
Server advertising
The following are punishable:
- naming other `MTA` servers in chat
- telling players to join another server
- posting other server IPs
- insulting the server with messages such as `dead server`
Titles and visible content
Titles cannot be:
- religious
- political
- racist
- rude
- offensive
- impersonations of other players
For shaders and flags:
- small flags that are barely visible can be ignored
- larger controversial flags that take a large part of the shader should be removed

Gameplay, exploits, and trading rules
In-Game Rule 2
`In-Game Rule 2` covers:
- cheating
- minor exploiting
- moderate exploiting
- major exploiting
- scamming
Examples listed include:
- hacks
- macros
- serial changing
- exploit abuse for unfair gain
- being `APB` and letting a friend kill you
- infinite-money abuse
- intentionally lying for unfair gain
Cheating
Cheating includes:
- `aimbot`
- `wallhack`
- speed hacks
- auto-heal
- unfair scripts
- bug abuse for an advantage
Aimbot gives:
- a permanent ban
Account and serial limitations
These can lead to account or serial limitations:
- attempting to sell in-game things for outside payment
- scamming or attempting to scam
- profiting from un-guaranteed transfers
Serious cases can go up to:
- `5` years
Profiting from an un-guaranteed transfer such as selling a zone can be:
- up to `3` months for a first offence
- `1` year for a second offence
- `5` years for a third offence
Safe zones and movement abuse
The following are punishable:
- intentionally dragging a player out of a safe zone to kill them or move them far away
- repeated ramming or repeated non-damaging attacks
- using `VIP` recover to end up inside an inaccessible area or through a wall
- using a jetpack to reach an inaccessible roof and then switching to gangster
- tricking players into leaving the game with a command
- blocking map access with vehicles or other untouchable objects
- placing barriers to block access or gain a highly unfair advantage
The following are not punishable by themselves:
- standing on the edge of a safe zone
- running into a safe zone to heal or take cover
- satchels passing through walls
- using
/rtto escape a fight - kill farming, unless another rule is broken
- following players around, unless another punishable act is involved
- base invading or standing inside a group base or `CITy Zone`
Vehicle and explosion rules
If a player with a `nofire` ban creates an explosion:
- the explosion is cancelled
- the player is killed
Vehicle or aircraft explosions can be used to kill players only if they are players you are normally allowed to kill.
Hydra impact is not punished in these cases:
- in `LV`
- outside the main dimension
- at `200` meters or more above sea level
- if no player is within `75` meters
Group and gameplay sabotage
Sabotage includes acts done just to harm or disrupt others.
Example:
- kicking `3+` members from a group you do not own for no real reason
Selling access to your base spawn is not allowed.
Refusing to pay a duel bet is not punishable.
Content and private information
The following are serious rule breaks:
- sharing or threatening to share someone's IP
- sharing or threatening to share real photos
- sharing or threatening to share personal information
- threatening to hack someone or take their account
- showing obviously inappropriate or disgusting sounds or videos in the cinema
- using a speaker or
/streamurljust to annoy people - mentioning cheat names in chat in a way that attracts curiosity
Reposting a quote or chat log that breaks the chat rules counts as breaking that same chat rule yourself.
Context-sensitive notes
These points are also listed:
- saying a website name is not punishable by itself, but posting a link can be punishable
- provoking or insulting groups in main chat or custom titles is not punishable by itself
- posting something once is not punishable just because others recently posted the same thing
- random insulting in local chat can still be punishable even if it is not aimed at anyone
- saying `fail` after something punishable does not make it allowed
- claiming you were joking with friends does not excuse breaking main-chat rules
Forum rules
Rule 1
Forum Rule `1` forbids:
- illegal content
- dangerous content
- highly disgusting content
- copyright-infringing content
- plagiarized content
- links to that content
Group applications must not demand personal information that could be used for cyberbullying.
Rule 2
Forum Rule `2` requires forum posts to be:
- honest
- not misleading
- not intended to harm
- not intended to heavily offend
- not intended to create useless drama
Rule 3
Forum Rule `3` forbids:
- useless posts
- repetitive posts in serious topics
- AI-written comments posted as if they were your own writing
Rule 4
Forum Rule `4` says profile content must be:
- appropriate
- not disturbing
- not animated
Profile names can only use:
- alphabetic characters
- numeric characters
- standard keyboard characters
Rule 5
Forum Rule `5` forbids:
- multi-accounting on the forum
If you post on behalf of someone else:
- you are responsible for any rule break in that post
Rule 6
Forum Rule `6` forbids:
- PMing staff about unrelated things
- @mentioning staff about unrelated things
- annoying staff in other ways
Rule 7
Forum Rule `7` says:
- real-world harm or threats are punished harshly
Rule 8
Forum Rule `8` says sabotage is punished harshly.
Example:
- deleting topics for no reason
Rule 9
Forum Rule `9` forbids bringing the following into the forum, avatar, or signature:
- real-world conflicts
- terrorism
- political beliefs that divide humanity
- cultural beliefs that divide humanity
- religious beliefs that divide humanity
Country flags are not against Rule `9` unless they are modified to emphasize something political.
Rule 10
Forum Rule `10` forbids any transaction involving:
- real-world payment
- anything outside the game
The only exception listed is:
- an event officially sponsored or sanctioned by the administration
Forum mute
If your forum warning level goes above:
- `70%`
you become forum muted.
While forum muted, you cannot:
- make topics
- reply to topics
- send forum PMs
Your warning level drops by:
- `1%` per day
Once it goes below:
- `70%`
those actions work again.
Notes
- In-game chat and forum rules are separate, but both can lead to punishments.
- Some behaviors are context-sensitive and only become punishable in certain forms.
- `Support Chat` and forum posting both have stricter misuse rules than normal conversation.
- Public chat rules also apply to car chat.
