Appeal rules
Forum warning appeals follow the normal punishment appeal rules.
Main rules include:
- fill in the whole format
- include required evidence
- do not lie in the appeal
- do not break forum rules while appealing
- do not act disrespectfully
- do not try to hinder, delay, or bias a `PAM`
- a punishment can only be appealed once
- once the topic is locked, the decision is final
- all sides should post their evidence within `3` days` from when the appeal was first posted
Time limit
You cannot appeal a punishment older than:
- `14` days
Exception:
- if a forum mute prevented you from appealing in time
Who can reply
Only these people should reply in the appeal:
- the appellant
- their representative
- `CIT` staff
- people asked to reply by a `PAM`
Posting for someone else
Someone else may post for you only in limited cases.
Examples include:
- you are forum muted
- you are forum banned and need help posting an in-game punishment appeal
The appeal should still be written by the punished person whenever possible.
How Forum Warning appeals are reviewed
Forum warning appeals are reviewed by `PAMs`.
`PAMs` are `L3+` staff members who:
- review appeals
- check logs and proof
- contact the punishing staff member if needed
- decide whether the punishment stays
- decide whether the punishment is removed
- decide whether a custom duration or severity should be adjusted
PAM system
The `PAM` system works like this:
- there can be up to `4` `PAMs` in total
- they are appointed by `Head Staff (L4+)`
- the majority makes the final decision
- if more information is needed, they wait for the punishing staff member
Review level depends on who issued the punishment:
- if the punishment was issued by `L1` or `L2` staff, an `L3` staff member handles the appeal
- if the punisher is `L3`, an `L4` staff member reviews the appeal
A `PAM` decision can only be invalidated if:
- `2` `L4+` staff members agree
How long appeals take
Appeals are not answered immediately.
They need time to be reviewed properly.
If the appeal is accepted
If a forum warning appeal is accepted:
- the staff who punished you, or an `L3+` or `L4` staff member, will be told to remove the line
Do not rush people to remove it.
Important notes
- Forum warning appeals use the `Punishment Appeals` board.
- The appeal title has its own forum-warning format.
- The exact warning message you received should be pasted into the appeal.
- Lying in an appeal can lead to instant denial and another forum warning.
