Punishment Appeals are forum appeals used to challenge an in-game punishment or a forum warning in CIT.

In-game punishment appeal format

Use these lines in an in-game punishment appeal:

Your nick when you were punished
Groups & Squads you're involved in
When were you punished "Date/Time"
Account name
Who punished you
What was the reason (rule you broke)
Duration of the punishment
What language is used (if any)
Explain what happened
Why do you think it was unfair?
Chat Logs from your local MTA logs or forum URLs

Forum warning appeal format

Use these lines in a forum warning appeal:

Link to forum user profile, leave this blank if you're posting from warned account
Groups & Squads you're involved in
When were you punished "Date/Time"
Who punished you, if known
What was the reason, if known
What language is used (if any)
Explain what happened, if known
Why do you think it was unfair?
Paste the exact message that you received when you received a warning

Evidence

A punishment appeal should include the needed evidence.

This includes:

punishment details
your explanation
chat logs where needed
serial where needed
any other proof needed for the case

Main rules

The main appeal rules include:

fill in the whole format
include serial and evidence where needed
lying in your appeal can lead to instant denial and a forum warning
you cannot appeal a punishment older than 14 days unless a forum mute prevented you from appealing
a punishment can only be appealed once
once the topic is locked, the decision is final
trying to hinder, delay, or bias the review can get the appeal denied
only the appellant, their representative, staff, or people asked to reply should post
the appeal should be written by the punished person whenever possible
all sides should post their evidence within 3 days from when the appeal was posted

Posting on behalf of someone else

Someone else can post a punishment appeal for you only in limited cases.

This includes:

if you are forum muted, someone can appeal on your behalf within the 14-day limit
if you are forum banned, someone can post your in-game punishment appeal for you
if you do not understand English, you can request translation only

The appeal should still be:

written by the punished person
not altered by the person posting it

After the decision

If a punishment appeal is accepted:

the staff member who punished you, or an L3+ or L4 staff member, will be told to remove the line

You should not rush people to remove it.

A punishment line is only removed when it is officially invalidated.

Notes

Punishment appeals are forum-based.
A punishment can only be appealed once.
Mutes over 3 days do not go in the Punishment Appeals board.
Bans changed to admin jails cannot be appealed.
