Gun Mods

Gun Mods are cosmetic weapon shaders in CIT. They change how a weapon looks for you, but they do not change how the weapon works.

Gameplay variants and cosmetic mods

Gameplay weapon variants are separate from cosmetic downloads in /mods. Compare their values in Weapon Stats. Gameplay variants can change:

  • damage
  • accuracy
  • magazine size
  • fire rate
  • movement speed

Known variants

Variant Current behavior
SPAS Crowd Control 14 rounds, terrible accuracy, and no move and shoot.
Desert Eagle Community Clipper 37% less damage, 140% more accuracy, 20 rounds, and 30% more fire rate.
MP5 U 30 rounds, 37 displayed damage, 2.7 accuracy, and 1.2 move speed; lower fire rate than the default MP5.
Sawnoff Single 50% more damage per shot than dual and faster reload.

F9 weapon mods use no resources and are free to switch.

Gun mod basics

The Weapons tab of /mods includes 17 built-in Server mods whose size is Included. They are already downloaded and enabled. You can disable them to use the original GTA weapons.

Gun Mods are:

  • client side
  • cosmetic only
  • only visible to you

There are:

  • 235 Gun Mods in /gunmods

Other players do not see your Gun Mods.

How to open Gun Mods

You can open Gun Mods with:

  • /gunmod
  • /gunmods
  • the Gun Mods app in CITPhone

How to install a gun mod

To install a Gun Mod:

  • open /gunmod or /gunmods
  • choose the mod you want
  • click Download mod
  • click Enable mod

They only change how the weapon looks.

Gun mods menu

Open /mods > Weapons. Its controls affect only the Weapons tab. There is no Enable Server Gun Mods setting. Enable or disable each mod in the panel.

The main buttons in the Gun Mods menu are:

  • Download mod
  • Enable mod
  • Disable mod
  • Delete mod
  • Delete all mods

Removing gun mods

To remove a Gun Mod from one weapon:

  • open /mods and go to the Weapons tab
  • select the weapon or mod
  • click Delete mod

To remove all Gun Mods at once:

  • open the Gun Mods GUI
  • click Delete all mods

/wepmods Opens the custom weapon mods window. These mods are visible only to you.

Modifications interface

Open /mods for the central Modifications interface. Vehicles and Weapons have searchable lists with Name, ID, Replaces, Size, Downloaded, and Enabled columns. Use Search Mods, select a mod, then download, enable, disable, or delete it. Each mod can be enabled independently.

The panel shows used storage, and the weapon tab has Delete all mods. /carmods, /vehmods, /gunmods, and /wepmods remain usable.

Weapon laser controls

Open /settings and go to Graphics > VISUAL EFFECTS. Set Weapon Laser to On to show supported weapon lasers or Off to hide them; the default is Off.

Craft MP5: U in F9 for the laser version. MP5: U holds 30 rounds and has a displayed damage value of 37. There is no M4 laser mod in the F9 Weapon Mods list. To change the laser color, go to an Ammunation and click Change Laser Color on the OTHER page.

Modifications panel

Use /mods to manage vehicle mods, weapon mods, weapon sounds, crosshairs, and weapon skins:

  • In Vehicles and Weapons, each row shows Name, ID, what it Replaces, file Size, whether it is Downloaded, and whether it is Enabled.
  • Use Search Mods to filter the list. Select a mod to download, enable, disable, or delete it.
  • Vehicle and gun mods can be turned on or off individually.
  • Disable All affects only the active tab: vehicle mods in Vehicles, or weapon mods in Weapons.
  • The panel shows used storage space, and the weapon tab has Delete all mods.
  • Weapon Sounds provides weapon selection, sound Presets, a Search box, a custom file option, and My weapon sounds showing your current selections.
  • Crosshairs has Weapon Crosshairs and Sniper Crosshairs tabs, crosshair images, and a weapon list. It also has controls to enable, disable, and reset custom crosshairs.
  • Weapon Skins lists ID and Weapon Skin. Select an entry and use Preview to see its kill message preview, then Select to apply it.
