Not automatically paying jail fine as the cost is

Steps

  1. Have cash in hand

You need cash in hand. Money in the bank does not work for /payjailfine.

  2. Type /payjailfine or press N

While you are in jail, type /payjailfine, or press N when the pay jail fine option is shown. You can add a number of seconds after /payjailfine to pay off only that much prison time.

  3. Raise your maximum payment

Only if a red message says Not automatically paying jail fine.

The fine cost more than your limit, so it was not paid for you. The message names both amounts. Type /settings, go to General > JAIL / PRISON and raise Auto Jail Fine Max Payment.

  4. Turn on automatic payment

Only if you want the fine paid for you next time.

In /settings > General > JAIL / PRISON, set Automatically Pay Jail Fine to Yes. It is No by default. Then the fine is paid for you and you respawn at a hospital instead of in prison. Auto Jail Fine Max Payment in the same section sets the limit for automatic payment.

Worth knowing

The red message shows your own numbers: the cost of your fine and your Auto Jail Fine Max Payment.

When you enter jail, the game shows the exact /payjailfine cost per second.

/payjailfine costs at most $100 per second. Automatic payment does not use this cap: above 5,000 hours of play time it still charges the full play time rate.

The default value of Auto Jail Fine Max Payment is 999999.

/payjaifine is a misspelling. The command is /payjailfine.
