Guider

From CIT Wiki

Guiders

Guiders are dedicated members of the CIT community who assist non-English-speaking players. Their primary purpose is to help players from their own country navigate the game, use their preferred language settings, and enhance their overall gaming experience. Guiders are an essential part of the CIT server, offering support to players who might not be fluent in English.

While their duties overlap with Supporters, Guiders focus specifically on aiding players in their native languages. They do not have access to in-game translations like Translators but are equipped with unique tools to help guide their countrymen and ensure they have a smooth experience on the server.

Guiders' In-Game Duties

Guiders have a set of tools and commands that allow them to assist players directly in-game. Their responsibilities include:

1. Tools GUI

Guiders have access to a special in-game GUI that provides several important features:

  • Warping to Players: Guiders can teleport to players who need assistance, ensuring that help is available directly.
  • Language Filtering: Guiders can see which MTA SA language each player is using and filter players based on their language preference. This makes it easier for Guiders to provide support in the correct language.

2. Country-Shouts

  • Country-Shouts allow Guiders to send messages to all players from their country. This feature helps encourage players to use the appropriate language localization (MTA Language), ensuring a language-specific environment within the game.

3. Language-Shouts

  • Guiders can also send messages to players who are using the same MTA language as theirs (excluding en_US, which is the default). Language-shouts help guide language-specific players and allow for more tailored communication.

4. Player Assistance

  • /helpme <problem>: If a player submits a ticket using the /helpme command, Guiders can warp to that player to provide assistance. This allows them to resolve player issues more efficiently and directly.

Guiders' Duties on the Forum

In addition to their in-game duties, Guiders are also active on the CIT Forum, where they assist with translations and review forum posts.

1. Translations

  • Guiders help with translating forum content for their language groups. Although they do not have in-game translation privileges, their contributions ensure that non-English players can access important information in their native language.

2. Reviewing Translations

  • Guiders also review existing translations to ensure accuracy. This helps maintain the quality of translations and prevents any errors or miscommunications in the forum content.

3. Collaboration

  • Guiders collaborate within their language-specific forum boards to discuss translations, share insights, and assist each other with translation-related tasks.

Becoming a Guider

To become a Guider, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Fluency in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.).
  • Active player status on the CIT server.
  • Commitment to helping other players from your country.

Guiders play an essential role in ensuring that all players, regardless of their language, can enjoy the game.
