Password Recovery

Password Recovery is the process used to regain access to a CIT account when you forget your password.

Overview

There are two main password recovery methods:

  • email recovery
  • manual recovery through the Account Retrieval Board

Email recovery is the normal method.

If email recovery is not possible:

  • use the Account Retrieval Board

Recovering your password by email

To recover your password by email:

  • reconnect to the server, or use /reconnect
  • click Forgot my password
  • enter your email
  • wait for the recovery code
  • use the recovery code to reset your password

This is the main password recovery method.

When email recovery cannot be used

If you forgot your password and did not set an email:

  • use the Account Retrieval Board

If you cannot recover your account through email:

  • use the Account Retrieval Board

Manual recovery is used when email recovery is not possible.

Account Retrieval Board

The Account Retrieval Board is used for:

  • manual account recovery
  • manual PIN recovery when needed

If email recovery is not possible:

  • go to the Account Retrieval Board
  • make a topic using the required format
  • include the needed recovery details

Replies usually take:

  • 3 to 4 days

Evidence and recovery details

For manual recovery, include as much useful account evidence as possible.

Examples include:

  • screenshots
  • login history
  • other identifying account information

  • Email recovery is the main recovery method.
