Guider Duty

Guider Duty is a community duty in CIT. Guiders help non-English-speaking players in their own language in game and on the forum.

Overview

Guiders are expected to:

  • help players
  • stay active
  • support their language community

A Guider helps players in their own language, but this duty is not the same as the Translator duty.

What Guiders do

Guiders help non-English-speaking players in game and on the forum.

In game, Guiders can:

  • help players in their own language
  • warp to players
  • see a player's `MTA` language
  • filter players by language
  • filter players by country
  • use country-shouts
  • use language-shouts

On the forum, Guiders:

  • translate posts
  • review translations
  • help manage their language board

Helping players in game

A player who needs help can use:

/helpme <problem>

After that, a Guider can teleport to the player to help.

Any player can check which Guides are online with:

/online guide

Tools GUI

Guiders use the Tools GUI.

The Tools GUI lets Guiders:

  • warp to players
  • see a player's `MTA` language
  • filter players by language
  • filter players by country

Language support

Guiders help players in their own language.

They can also use:

  • country-shouts
  • language-shouts

Country-Shouts go to players from the same country.

Language-Shouts go to players using the same `MTA` language setting, except en_US.

Translator tools

Guiders do not have Translator tools in game.

They help players in their language, but Translator tools are not part of the Guider duty.

Requirements

To become a Guider, a player must:

  • be fluent in a non-English language
  • stay active
  • be willing to help new players

How to apply
