Music

Music in CIT can be played through several different systems. These include the official radio, the CITPhone Radio app, the Music Player, direct stream links, group interior radio, CITy zone radio, vehicle music, and some special streamed locations.

Music systems

The main music options in CIT are:

  • CIT2radio
  • the Radio app in CITPhone
  • the Music Player
  • direct stream links with /mymusic
  • group interior radio with /gradio
  • CITy zone radio with /cityzoneradio
  • special streamed locations with /streamurl

You can play music in:

  • your house
  • your apartment
  • your car
  • a CITy zone
  • a group interior

CIT2radio

CIT2radio is the official in game radio station.

To request a song on it, use:

/songreq

CITPhone Radio app

The Radio app in CITPhone lets you listen to stations without leaving the game.

How to open it

  • press B to open CITPhone
  • open the Radio app

What the Radio app can do The Radio app lets you:

  • browse available stations
  • search for a station
  • show the music bar
  • add a station to favorites
  • stop playback
  • change the volume
  • enter a custom stream address

Searching for a station To search for a station:

  • open CITPhone
  • open the Radio app
  • use the Search box

Playing a custom radio stream To play a custom stream through the Radio app:

  • open CITPhone
  • open the Radio app
  • type the stream link in Custom address, then press enter:
  • press Enter

Requesting a new radio station If the station you want is not listed, use:

Music Player

The Music Player is the built in CIT music system.

It supports:

  • direct .mp3 links
  • playlists
  • playback speed
  • vehicle music
  • effects

How to open Music Player You can open it with:

  • /mplayer
  • the Music Player app in CITPhone

What it is used for The Music Player is one of the main ways to play music in:

  • your house
  • your apartment
  • your car

Direct stream links

You can also play music directly from a stream URL.

To do that, use:

/mymusic <webAddressOfStreamHere>

This works in:

  • your house
  • your apartment
  • your car

Adding songs from YouTube or Spotify

To use YouTube or Spotify music with the Music Player:

  • you need a direct MP3 link

A normal YouTube or Spotify page link is not enough.

Where music can be heard

Music can be heard in different ways depending on the system you use.

Houses, apartments, and cars For houses, apartments, and cars, use:

  • /mplayer
  • /mymusic

Group interiors For a group interior, use:

  • /gradio

Players inside the same group interior can hear the music there.

Outsiders can also hear it if they are inside the group interior.

CITy zones For a CITy zone, use:

/cityzoneradio <ID> <webAddressForRadio>

To stop the CITy zone radio, use:

/cityzoneradio <ID>

Players inside the same property or interior can hear the music there.

Group radio

Group Radio is the music system used inside group interiors.

How to open it details Use:

/gradio

How to start using it If you cannot start a stream:

  • use Plug aux first
  • if someone else is already using it, ask them to Unplug aux
  • or ask a groupmate with Group Radio access to force plug or unplug the aux

Queue tab To use the Queue tab in Group Radio:

  • open /gradio
  • go to the Queue tab
  • insert the stream link
  • click Add to queue
  • click Play

This plays the queued songs or links in order.

Muting and disabling group radio To mute it for now, use:

/mutegr

To fully disable it:

  • open /settings
  • turn on Disable Custom Group Radio

Vehicle music

Music can be played in your car through the Music Player or direct stream links.

Passengers can also hear streamed vehicle music.

To stream music to passengers in your vehicle:

  • expand the music GUI twice
  • enable Stream the music in the vehicle I'm in

Special streamed music locations

Donator Level 3 can use:

/streamurl

This can play music at:

  • the car show area
  • the hit warehouse
  • right next to house icon or house icons

House music

Houses support music features.

A house can be used with:

  • /mplayer
  • /mymusic
  • CITradio

Music system differences

  • CIT2radio is the official in game radio station.
  • The Radio app and the Music Player are different systems.
  • The Radio app is for radio stations and custom radio streams.
  • The Music Player is for direct music playback with .mp3 links, playlists, playback speed, vehicle music, and effects.
  • Vehicles can stream music to passengers.
  • Music speakers cannot be placed on Van Heist or other special or event vehicles.

Commands

Command Use
/songreq Request a song on CIT2radio
/mplayer Open the Music Player
/mymusic <webAddressOfStreamHere> Play a direct stream link in your house, apartment, or car
/gradio Open the group radio panel
/mutegr Mute group radio for now
/cityzoneradio <ID> <webAddressForRadio> Start a radio stream in a CITy zone
/cityzoneradio <ID> Stop the CITy zone radio
/streamurl Play music at supported Donator Level 3 locations

Speaker and playback notes

  • Music speakers are automatically removed if the creator goes more than 200 meters away.
  • Pressing X and clicking a speaker toggles playing.
  • Speakers from ignored players do not appear.
  • Speakers cannot be placed within 12 meters of another speaker.


Speaker owner

  • Holding Alt near a speaker shows its owner.
