Police Officer

Police Officer is the main law job in CIT. It is the base police role for tracking wanted players, arresting or killing criminals, patrolling, and joining law side responses in ARs and CEs.

How to become a police officer

You can become a Police Officer by:

  • going to the LSPD or SFPD front entrance and entering the blue law job marker
  • warping to LSPD with /lspd while under 20 hours, then taking the blue law job marker
  • taking the job at Law Farm
  • using /go Police Officer after reaching 100,000 Arrest Points

The /go Police Officer GUI does not open if a wanted criminal is too close. You can go cop with this command only once every 5 minutes.

What to do first

Step What to use Notes
Find wanted players F5 Opens the Police Computer.
Check APBs /apb Shows current APB targets and locations.
Track APBs /trackapbs Use it again to stop tracking.
Arrest Nightstick Hit the wanted player 3 times within 45 seconds.
Kill arrest Any normal kill method Non violent criminals need at least 30 wanted points for a kill arrest.

Most players kill. Police cannot nightstick arrest players inside vehicles, but a cop entering the driver seat arrests a wanted passenger.

Start

Need What to use
Take the job Front entrance of LSPD or SFPD
New player teleport /lspd, while under 20 hours; take the blue law job marker on arrival
Other job location Law Farm
Quick switch /go Police Officer at 100,000 Arrest Points
Quit job /quitjob

Police Officer has no arrest requirement to unlock.

Police Workflow

  1. Open the Police Computer with F5.
  2. Find wanted players.
  3. Track them.
  4. Kill them or arrest them with the nightstick.
  5. Send them to Jail.

Killing a wanted criminal counts the same as arresting them with the nightstick.

Police cannot arrest players inside vehicles with the nightstick.

Inside JFM, cops can only kill and cannot nightstick arrest.

Useful Commands

Command or key Use
F5 Open the Police Computer
/wl Check wanted stars and the top 3 most wanted players
/apb View the current APB target
/e <message> Talk in Emergency Chat
/codes View law codes
/partner Get an AI partner when danger level is above 1.5

Progression

Police levels unlock law jobs, vehicles, /sirens, and higher kill arrest payout. Level 60 is the maximum police level.

Early specialist unlocks include Traffic Officer, Police Detective, and Bomb Disposal.

Related commands

Command Use
/bk Police can use /bk to call for backup at their current location. The Military and Rebel systems are disabled.
/calls Police can use /calls to view all calls to active crimes. The Military and Rebel systems are disabled.
/lspd Warps you to Los Santos Police Department if you have under 20 playtime hours.

Repeat jail payment

The same cop is paid for the first 2 consecutive jails of the same player. A third consecutive jail is unpaid only when the cop made at least 2 other jails in the preceding 5 minutes. A jail by a different cop breaks the sequence, and active event exceptions can still pay.

Arrest process and duty limits

  1. Tase a non violent wanted player if needed.
  2. Hit the player 3 times with the nightstick within 45 seconds.
  3. Stay near the arrested player for 3 seconds per wanted star.
  4. Take the player to the nearest police station unless they use /surrender.

The player stays in custody if the arresting officer exits a vehicle or enters a vehicle the arrested player cannot enter. The player is released if the officer drives away, dies, gets car-jacked, glues to a vehicle, or uses a parachute. A released player receives 3 seconds of invincibility.

Use /quitjob to leave Police Service. It is blocked within 50 meters of a wanted player or hit target.

Delivering an arrested player to a station pays the full solo arrest amount, including your police-level bonus and VIP. If the player uses /surrender or quits, they go straight to jail and you still receive the full amount. A wanted player who quits the game, uses /kill or drowns near a cop also gives that cop the jail and full arrest pay.

Police Officer skins

Police Officer skin IDs are 0, 3, 4, 39, 71, 119, 265, 266, 267, 280, 281, 282, 283, 284, 285, 286, 287, 288, 1007, 1008, 1010, 1011, 1013, 1014, 1015, 1016, 1017, 1019, 1042, 1046, 1055, 1057, 1063, 1097, 1115, 1120, 1121, and 1122. Two Police skins require a VIP level.

Weapons and spawn armor

Police Officers buy weapons, for example at Ammunation. Free spawn armor requires danger level 2 or higher.
