Housing

Housing in CIT covers player owned houses, house ownership limits, access control, house sales, basements, and the connection between houses and apartments.

This page focuses on the housing system itself. Apartment specific usage, commands, and entry management are covered on the separate apartment page.

Quick house facts

Fact Value
Default house slots 2
Donator slots D1 has 3, D2 has 4, D3 has 5
Maximum houses 10 with extra slots bought from F7
Maximum house price $400,000,000
Basement cost $10,000,000
Inactive house sale risk Houses inactive 14 days may go for sale.

House sales count toward both players' transfer limits. Houses can be bought with bank money if you do not have enough cash.

If you want to abandon a house without using a slot, set it for sale at $1.

House controls

Press Z at a house marker. The house GUI shows house name, owner, initial price, bought for, asking price, owner activity level, sale status, interior ID, open status, and basement status.

The GUI can use Toggle House Sale, Open/Close House, Buy This House, Enter House Interior, Enter Apartment Interior, and Buy Basement.

Add items is disabled. Visible item controls let you take items from your house.

Access and safety

CITBook friends can enter locked houses. Police can enter a locked house if a wanted criminal is inside. Players cannot enter interiors for 10 seconds after being hurt.

Healing in a house

Use:

/sleep

in your house to heal over time.

Going to your house

Owning a house does not make it your automatic spawn.

To go there, use:

/home

House furnishing

Regular houses do not have a furniture or decoration system.

House interiors are:

  • preset

so you cannot place custom furniture in normal houses.

Basements

A basement is a permanent house upgrade.

Cost:

  • $10,000,000

Basement notes:

  • it stays even if you sell the house
  • you buy it from the basement option at your house

Basements are used to grow:

Kenaf growth details:

  • full growth takes 18 hours
  • a basement has 35 plants
  • each mature plant gives 9 Kenaf
  • a full basement harvest gives 315 Kevlar
  • that is enough for 21 Armor (Kevlar) crafts at 15 Kevlar each

Other notes:

  • harvesting early gives less
  • Kenaf cannot be sold or transferred

Apartments and houses

Apartments are a separate housing related system.

For housing purposes, the important rules are:

  • you can only have 1 apartment
  • all of your houses share that same apartment
  • you do not get one apartment per house
  • you cannot sell an apartment, only your house

For apartment renting, access rules, apartment commands, and apartment travel, see the apartment page.

My Properties

Housing and related properties can be viewed through:

You can use it to:

  • view your houses
  • view your rented factories
  • view other live properties
  • mark your house on the map

Rented factories can also be found through My Properties. If you double click a rented factory there, it marks the factory with a floppy disk blip.

When you click a house in My Properties, it shows:

  • house interior
  • whether it is for sale
  • asking price
  • whether it has a basement
  • Kenaf growth percentage if it has a basement

A green house icon means:

  • the house is for sale

If a house has a basement, then:

  • Kenaf Growth 100% means the Kenaf is ready to harvest

Houses and other property systems

Houses are different from heist properties.

  • houses are residential properties bought from green house icons or Real Estate centers
  • heist properties are criminal mission bases bought from the property store GUI
  • rented factories are separate rentable conversion properties found through My Properties or /gps > Factories

Heist properties

Houses are residential properties.

Heist properties are criminal mission bases bought from the property store GUI.

To buy a heist property, open the property store GUI, select a heist property, and click View or Purchase.

The CIT - Heist Properties GUI lists heist properties across San Andreas. Properties you already own are marked green.
