Vehicle Controls

These are the main controls and commands used while driving or riding in CIT. Changed binds can be checked in /settings > Binds or the MTA bind settings.

Quick controls

Control Use Notes
/engine Turns the vehicle or aircraft engine on or off Normal owned vehicles are ready to drive after selection or recovery.
G Enters a vehicle as a passenger The MTA bind is enter_passenger.
Down Arrow Performs a wheelie Use it while riding a supported bike.
Right Mouse Button Toggles drive by aiming and firing The CIT bind name is Driveby Toggle.
Q / E Changes the drive by weapon The bind names are Driveby Previous Weapon and Driveby Next Weapon.
/toggleblinkers Enables or disables vehicle blinkers Enable them before using the blinker keys.
N Toggles the left blinker The bind is Left Blinker Key.
M Toggles the right blinker The bind is Right Blinker Key.
K Toggles hazard lights The bind is Hazard Blinker Key.
Caps Lock Uses the Horn bind Hydraulics replaces the horn on vehicles that have it installed.

Hydraulics

Hydraulics costs $20,000 from Mod Shop > Chassis Upgrades > Hydraulics. It supports cars, but not bikes or planes. It uses the vehicle's Horn bind, which is Caps Lock by default. Installing hydraulics replaces the normal horn.

Police sirens

In a Police vehicle, tap the Horn bind to toggle the siren and hold it to honk. The default is Caps Lock, and the MTA bind screen can also show H as an alternate key. Use /sirens to change the placement of neon siren lights.

Default driving controls

Action Default control Notes
Enter as passenger G The bind is enter_passenger.
Toggle drive by RMB The bind is Driveby Toggle. Drivers cannot move while firing.
Previous or next drive by weapon Q or E Uses Driveby Previous Weapon and Driveby Next Weapon.
Motorbike wheelie Down Arrow Pulls the bike back.
Left blinker N Enable blinkers first with /toggleblinkers.
Right blinker M Enable blinkers first with /toggleblinkers.
Hazard blinkers K Toggles both blinkers.

Blinker keys can be changed in /settings > Binds by searching for blinker.

Engine state after selection

Normal owned vehicles are ready to drive after being picked or recovered. Use /engine when you want to turn the engine on or off manually.
