Steps

  1. Leave the server first

MTA does not let you change Language or Skin while you are on a server. Press F8 (or ~) to open the console, type disconnect and press Enter. You go back to the main menu. You can also use Disconnect in MTA's main menu.

  2. Change it on the Interface tab

  3. Join the server again

In the F8 console type reconnect and press Enter. It connects you to the server you were on before. On CIT you can also type connect s2.cit.gg 22003 in the F8 console.

  4. If MTA says DISCONNECT REQUIRED

Only if MTA shows DISCONNECT REQUIRED after you change a setting.

Some settings only change when you leave the server. MTA asks if you want to disconnect now. Choose Yes to disconnect now. If you choose No, the change waits until you disconnect.

  5. If even the default skin cannot load

Only if MTA says the default skin could not be loaded either.

If only the skin you chose fails, MTA uses the default skin by itself. If the default skin also fails, MTA's own message says to reinstall MTA.

Worth knowing

MTA's code shows these two errors only while a server's game mode is loaded, and it puts your old choice back in the list.

CC82 is the code of the language error and CC80 the code of the skin error (MTA's code and MTA's Error Codes list).

On CIT, the language you choose also changes supported in-game information to that language.

Some other MTA settings change only after you restart MTA. Then MTA shows RESTART REQUIRED (Some settings will be changed when you next start MTA).

Languages CIT supports: Spanish, Hungarian, Chinese, Croatian, Russian, German, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Turkish, French, Swedish, Azerbaijani, Polish, Norwegian, Dutch, Ukrainian, Italian, Romanian, Slovenian, Indonesian, Arabic, Greek and Danish.

On CIT, type /ssup to ask for help in your own language. It sends your message to the Support Non-English chat, which no longer has a tab in J.

On CIT, the F1 Documentation tab has See English only. Some F1 articles can be set to show only to players who use a certain language.

Still not fixed? Copy the whole message, not only the code, and check your log in the Fix tool. It is read on your own computer.
