MTA:SA fix
MTA sound gets quieter after every restart (Radio and SFX volume drop)
Each time you start MTA 1.6 again, Radio volume and SFX volume in the Audio settings are lower than you set them. MTA 1.6 does not have the fix for this bug yet, so set them back after each start.
Steps
Check Radio volume and SFX volume
After you start MTA, press ESC, open Settings and go to the Audio tab. Look at Radio volume and SFX volume. If they are lower than you set them, you have this problem.

Set them back and click OK
Move the Radio volume and SFX volume sliders back to the level you want. Then click OK.

Check them again after each start
MTA 1.6 does not have the fix yet, so the values can drop again. Each time you start MTA, look at Radio volume and SFX volume again. Set them back if they dropped.
Careful: The fix is only in MTA 1.7. MTA's team says 1.7 is a development build and is not officially released yet.

An MTA team member confirmed the bug on 4 March 2026: SFX volume went from 34% to 10% after one restart. They said this explains why their game always ended up with no sound.
The bug report was made on MTA v1.6-release-23952. Its first step to make the bug happen is to lower the Master volume.
An MTA team member wrote on 2 March 2026 that in MTA's code, Radio and SFX volume are multiplied by the Master volume.
MTA's team fixed it on 18 April 2026 (pull request #4820, for MTA 1.7). On 23 October 2026 the MTA 1.6 code still did not have the fix, and MTA's GitHub releases page still marked v1.6.0 as the latest release.
