MTA:SA fix
Keys do nothing or do the wrong thing in MTA
Controls that worked in single-player act differently in MTA, or a key has lost its job. MTA has console commands to copy GTA's controls and to put the default binds back.
Steps
Try one step, then check whether the problem is still there. Follow any "only if" line before changing a setting.
Copy your GTA controls
Open the console with F8 and type copygtacontrols. It copies your single-player controls into MTA. MTA's command list says it may need a restart to work properly.
See what a key is bound to
Type binds in the console. MTA prints every bind, so you can see whether the key is still set and to what.
Put the default binds back
Type bind defaults in the console. It resets the binds shown in the settings menu to MTA's defaults.
Careful: This replaces the binds you changed yourself.
On CIT: two places hold keys
MTA's own keys are in ESC, Settings, Binds. Keys for CIT's features are in CIT's /settings. A CIT shortcut that stopped working has its own fix in this tool.
Still stuck? The Fix tool reads MTA's own log on your computer and points at the matching steps. Nothing is uploaded.
