Removing or selling a boost returns
90%
of the Engine Parts. Speed has
10
levels at
4%
per level; for example,
150 km/h
stock becomes about
210 km/h
.

*
4
,
6
,
8
,
10
,
12
,
14
:
54
Engine Parts for all six levels

Engine Parts

Engine Parts are a CIT resource used for vehicle upgrades, crafting, and trading.

Use

Engine Parts work on cars and bikes only.

They are mainly used to improve:

 • Top speed
 • Acceleration
 • Crash resistance
 • Bullet resistance

They can also be used in F9 crafting and sold on F7.

How to get engine parts

Trucker, Freight Train Driver, Andromada Pilot, Mechanic scrapping, CPD and NCC Armed Robbery, Racer rewards, civilian State Official Events, Engine Parts Factory, and F7 Trading.

CPD gives about 35 Engine Parts, with up to 37 seen; NCC gives 18 or 19 Engine Parts and 6 or 7 Jerry Cans at the full AR cash step. Resource amounts vary with conversion prices, are lower at lower AR cash steps, and do not increase with VIP. Mechanics select Iron or Engine Parts for scrapping.

What to do with engine parts

Engine Parts can be:

 • Used to upgrade cars and bikes
 • Used in F9 crafting
 • Sold on F7

Removing a boost level returns 90% of its cost, rounded down. For example, a level that cost 1,400 Engine Parts gives 1,260 back, a level that cost 5 gives 4 back and a level that cost 1 gives nothing back. Selling the vehicle returns 90% of all its installed Engine Parts, rounded down once.

Vehicle Upgrades

Engine Parts improve vehicle performance.

Fully upgraded vehicles can reach about 140% of stock speed.

To reach full speed boost, you need:

 • 5,079 Engine Parts

The next-level Speed costs are 5, 8, 12, 15, 18, 21, 1,100, 1,200, 1,300, and 1,400 Engine Parts. The first six levels reach 124% for 79 parts; the final four cost 5,000.

Acceleration

Full acceleration tuning costs 79 Engine Parts and reaches 118% of stock acceleration. See Vehicle Mods for tuning controls.

Acceleration levels reach 103%, 106%, 109%, 112%, 115%, and 118%. Their next-level costs are 5, 8, 12, 15, 18, and 21 Engine Parts, with cumulative costs of 5, 13, 25, 40, 58, and 79.

Crash Resistance

Crash resistance uses Engine Parts at these levels:

 • L1: 5
 • L2: 8
 • L3: 12
 • L4: 17
 • L5: 25
 • L6: 38
 • L7: 57
 • L8: 85
 • L9: 128
 • L10: 192

The total cost to reach level 10 crash resistance is:

 • 567 Engine Parts

Factory Uses

Engine Parts are also used by:

Crafting

Engine Parts are used in F9 crafting for:

 • Repair Kit

Trading

Engine Parts can be sold through F7.

Many resources and crafted materials can be traded there.

Resource Notes

 • Engine Parts work on cars and bikes only.
 • They improve speed, acceleration, and resistance.
 • They can be used for both vehicle upgrades and crafting.
 • Full speed boost needs 5,079 Engine Parts.
 • Crash resistance from level 0 to level 10 needs 567 Engine Parts.
 • Removing a boost level returns 90% of its cost, rounded down. Selling the vehicle returns 90% of all its Engine Parts, rounded down once.

Factory production

Engine Parts are not a direct F9 craft. An Engine Parts Factory converts Iron, Oil, and Electronics into Engine Parts and continues processing at full speed while the owner is offline.

Use /gps > Factories to find SF Doherty Car Factory in Doherty or LS Car Parts Factory in Ocean Docks.

Fixed completion rewards

Activity Engine Parts Other reward or condition
CPD Armed Robbery About 35, up to 37 Varies with conversion price and AR cash step; VIP does not increase the resource amount.
NCC Armed Robbery 18 or 19 Also gives 6 or 7 Jerry Cans at the full AR cash step.
Mechanic scrapping 12 Per vehicle; rank and VIP do not change it.
Race, places 1 to 4 12, 9, 6, 3 Choose Engine Parts in /race; these quantities are paid on top of the cash share converted at the current average Engine Parts sale price.

These are different activities, not an hourly ranking.

Four boost costs

Upgrade Total Engine Parts Result
Speed 5,079 140% of stock speed
Acceleration 79 118% of stock acceleration
Crash resistance 567 Level 0 to level 10
Bullet Resistance 2,264 10 levels
Four boost subtotal 7,989 Speed, Acceleration, Crash Resistance and Bullet Resistance only; not all eleven boosts

Other boosts have their own next-level Engine Parts costs:

 • 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14: 54 Engine Parts for all six levels
 • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6: 21 Engine Parts in total
 • 10, 20, 30, 40: 100 Engine Parts for all four levels
 • 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30: 105 Engine Parts in total

Mod Shops show how many Engine Parts are needed for the next boost level. A vehicle with full Speed, Acceleration, Bullet Resistance, Crash Resistance and the boost that costs 54 Engine Parts holds 8,043 Engine Parts.

Removing a boost level returns 90% of its cost, rounded down. Selling the vehicle returns 90% of its combined installed Engine Parts, rounded down once, so a vehicle that holds 8,043 Engine Parts gives 7,238 back. Speed has 10 levels at 4% per level; for example, 150 km/h stock becomes about 210 km/h.

A Mechanic scrap delivery that takes you past the hourly earn limit gives no Iron or Engine Parts, but still counts toward Mechanic job progress.

Race prize conversion

Race cash prizes are converted into Engine Parts using the current average sale price. First through fourth place also receive 12, 9, 6, and 3 Engine Parts respectively. Selecting Nitrous pays 25x the corresponding Engine Parts reward.

Observed race totals include 24 Engine Parts (600 Nitrous) for first place with two racers, 18 (450) for second place with two, and 30 (750) for first place with three. These are examples, not fixed rewards for every conversion price.

/race rewards count toward the earn limit. After passing it, races add no Engine Parts until the next hour even if the race message still displays the usual amount.
