Turfing

Turfing is gangster PvP where groups fight for map areas and fill the capture bar to 100% to take control.

How turfing works

Turfing is gangster PvP where groups fight for map areas and fill the capture bar to 100%.

To turf, you must:

  • be on the Gangster side
  • be in a group
  • stay inside the turf zone to build control

Up to 4 players from the same group count for standing progress. Getting killed lowers your group's control. Defending or re entering a turf stops another group from taking it.

LS and LV turf differences

City Turf behavior Important notes
LS Uses graffiti and influence control Grenades and RPGs cannot be used there. LS has 39 turfs and resets every 168 hours.
LV Taken by standing in the turf and defending it Grenades and RPGs can be used there. LV has 79 turfs: 60 land, 14 island, and 5 oil.

Rewards and decay

Holding turfs gives group passive income, reputation or XP, and some turfs pay drugs, oil, iron, or other resources instead of cash. Turfing gives 120+ RP depending on activity and time in the turf.

In LV, turf pay depends on how many turfs the group owns and how many members are actively turfing. If a group has no members online, its LV turf percent drops 3x faster.

Useful turf commands

Command Use Notes
F11 Checks turf areas on the map LS may need zooming to show turf clusters.
/lasttakeover Shows latest LS and LV takeovers Useful for tracking recent turf activity.
/turfcolor Opens turf color picker Can also use /turfcolor R G B.
/groupchatcolor R G B Changes group chat color Requires group permission.

Turfing notes

Turfing is a gangster only system.

It is one of the main group activities on the gangster side, and it is split between Los Santos and Las Venturas.

Turfs belong to groups, not solo players.

Gangsters use turfing to fight for control, defend their areas, and earn passive rewards from the turfs they hold.

Requirements

To turf, you need:

  • Gangster side
  • A group

Criminals cannot capture turfs.

If you need to switch sides, use:

  • /gangster

How Turfing Works notes

To turf, enter the turf zone as a gangster in a group and stay inside it to build control.

Turfing uses a capture bar. When your group fills the bar to 100%, the turf is taken.

Important turfing rules include:

  • Getting killed lowers your group's control
  • Defending or re entering the turf stops the other group from taking it

Los Santos and Las Venturas

Turfing works differently in LS and LV.

Los Santos Turfing

Los Santos has 39 turfs.

Several of them are drug turfs.

LS turfing uses:

LS turfs reset every 7 days.

LS also has a turf cluster map on F11. If you zoom in on F11, it can show turf clusters instead of single turfs to reduce clutter.

Cluster text is only visible to gangsters.

Las Venturas Turfing

Las Venturas has 79 turfs: 60 land, 14 island, and 5 oil.

These are split into:

In LV, the turf is taken by standing in it and defending it.

If a group has nobody online in LV, its turf percent drops 3 times faster.

Oil turfs are the 5 LV turfs that give oil instead of cash.

Turf Rewards

Holding turfs gives your group passive rewards.

These can include:

A defended turf gives your group reputation and also keeps its passive payout.

Turfing also gives 120+ RP depending on your activity and time in the turf.
