Van Heist

Van Heist is part of the Criminal Event cycle. Criminals hijack a Securicar and deliver it while police try to stop them.

In CE codes, VH means Van Heist.

How Van Heist works

Van Heist is part of the Criminal Event cycle and happens every 4th CE. Criminals hijack a Securicar and deliver it while police try to stop them.

Use /vanheist to check the timer. If Van Heist is running, press N after the command to mark the location.

The Van Heist Securicar cannot be blocked by vehicles. Stingers do not affect the Van Heist vehicle, and the Van Heist blip is visible to medics.

Hit targets cannot drive the Van Heist vehicle. Securicars too close to the Van Heist Securicar are recovered.

Criminal Bosses can car jack their own team in Van Heist. Police Chiefs can also car jack the driver for their team.

Winning team members get 20% more XP for 30 minutes. Rewards scale with online players.

Van Heist happens every 4th CE.

How it works

  1. Wait for Van Heist to start.
  2. Get into the Securicar if it is empty, or take it from the other team.
  3. Drive it to the marked destination.
  4. If someone else on your side is driving, stay near the Securicar and escort it on foot. The HUD shows your accumulating reward.

If nobody has been in the van for 150 seconds, the Van Heist ends and cops count as winning.

The van stops if surrounded by enemies.

Police Chiefs can car jack the driver for their team in Van Heist. Criminal Bosses can car jack their own team in Van Heist.

Rewards

Van Heist rewards scale with online players.

The winning team also gets 20% more XP for 30 minutes.

Current reward system

Every 5 seconds, an eligible nearby Criminal or Gangster gains $1,800 while the criminal side drives the van. An eligible nearby law player gains $1,500 while Police drive it. A qualifying opposing side kill adds $15,000. The final cash reward is capped at $300,000.

A criminal with no qualifying damage receives 25% of the final amount. Criminal final cash strictly above $15,000, $30,000, $45,000, $60,000, and $75,000 gives 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 RP. The winning team gets 20% more XP for 30 minutes.

Police route and payment

Van Heist starts in north east Los Santos. Criminals deliver the Securicar to Emmet's garage in Willowfield. Police stop the criminals and escort it to the LSPD garage.

An eligible nearby law player receives $1,500 every 5 seconds while Police drive the van. Standing in a safe zone does not count as assisting. Staying near the van while a teammate drives increases the payment shown on the HUD.

The driver cannot normally be car jacked. Police Chiefs and Criminal Bosses can car jack the Van Heist driver of their own team.

Current vehicle and assistance rules

Van Heist starts in northeast Los Santos. Criminals deliver the Securicar to Emmet's garage, while Police deliver it to the LSPD garage.

  • Hijack and Van Heist use 3D blips.
  • Standing in a safe zone does not count as assisting.
  • Teleporting near the Van Heist is disabled.
  • Music speakers cannot be attached to the Van Heist vehicle.
  • The van stops when more enemies than allies are within 25 meters.
  • The driver receives the full payout even without damage. The 25% low payout applies to other criminals without qualifying damage.
