Steps

  1. Type the whole address and port

Only if MTA says No address specified!

The address box was empty, or had only mtasa:// in it. Type the server's address and port into it, or pick a server from the history list. Then press Connect.

  2. Start the address with mtasa://

Only if MTA says Unknown protocol.

The address starts with another protocol, like http://. Start it with mtasa:// instead, or type only the address and port: MTA then adds mtasa:// by itself. For CIT: mtasa://s2.cit.gg:22003.

  3. Check the address for typing mistakes

Only if MTA says Connecting failed. Invalid host provided!

MTA could not use the address you typed. Check it, type the address and the port again, then try again.

  4. Select a server first

Only if MTA says You have to select a server to connect to.

In the server list, click one server so it is selected. Then press Connect.

  5. Network not ready: wait a moment

Only if MTA says The network module is not ready, or Network is not ready, please wait a moment.

MTA is not ready yet. Wait a moment, then try again.

  6. F8 console: type the address, then the port

Only if the connect command says Bad port number, or shows its syntax.

Open the console with F8. Type connect, then the address, then the port, with a space between them. For CIT, type connect s2.cit.gg 22003.

Worth knowing

In MTA's error code list (saved copy, 3 October 2026), CC70 and CC75 are No address specified!, CC71 is Unknown protocol with Please use the mtasa:// protocol!, CC74 is You have to select a server to connect to. and CC21 is Invalid host provided.

MTA's code says the mtasa:// check is there to stop http and other protocols.

If connect answers could not connect to, followed by the address and port, the attempt failed. To join CIT, you can also open MTA's Server Browser and search for CIT.gg.

Typing /connect while you are on CIT disconnects you from CIT, so only use it if you want to leave.
