Server browser is empty or stuck on Loading

The list can take a while to fill. If it stays empty, you can still join a server directly with its address.

Steps

Try one step, then check whether the problem is still there. Follow any "only if" line before changing a setting.

1. Wait, then press Refresh

   The MTA FAQ says the browser can need some time to fetch all servers, depending on your connection. Give it longer, then press Refresh.

2. Check what blocks MTA

   MTA team answers on the forum say a list that stays empty can mean something is blocking MTA's network traffic: software on your PC, or your internet provider. If you use a firewall other than the Windows one, turn it off for a moment to test. If the list then fills, allow gta_sa.exe, proxy_sa.exe and Multi Theft Auto.exe in it.

   Careful: Turn the firewall back on after the test.

3. Join with the address instead

   Use Quick Connect on the main menu with the server's address and port. Or open the console with F8 and type connect, then the host and the port.

4. To join CIT

   CIT's address is s2.cit.gg and its port is 22003. With MTA installed, the link mtasa://s2.cit.gg:22003 opens MTA and connects.

5. If no server connects at all

   Only if joining by address also fails.

   A connection that times out is a different problem. Use the connection timed out fix in this tool.
