Group Promotion

Group Promotion is the system used to move a group to a higher level in CIT. Promotion depends on the group's activity, punishments, behavior, board age, and review results.

Overview

Group promotion works in two stages:

  • `Level 1` to `Level 4` are handled automatically by the script
  • higher promotions are requested through Group Profiles

Important points:

  • group promotion can be done by any `L4+` in game
  • `GLMs` review promotion requests by checking activity, punishment, and behavior

Automatic promotions

Levels `1` to `4` are handled by an autonomous script.

A group can be promoted automatically as long as:

  • the activity is stable
  • /groupstats shows eligible for promotion

Automatic promotion checks also include these limits:

  • if the group's activity falls below `25%`, it is demoted by the system
  • if the group reaches `100%` punishment rate, it is demoted automatically by the script

Promotion applications

Groups request higher promotions on their group profile.

The documented promotion application path is:

  • `L4` to `L5`
  • `L5` to `L6`
  • `L6` to `L7`
  • `L7` to `L8`
  • `L8` to `L9`

Before applying, the group must follow the required time gap after its last promotion.

Time gaps between promotions

Promotion Required time gap
L4 to L5 2 months
L5 to L6 2 months
L6 to L7 3 months
L7 to L8 4 months
L8 to L9 5 months

Promotion requirements

Activity requirement to apply

Target level Criminals / Gangsters Civilian Workers Police Service
L5 110% 90% 100%
L6 120% 100% 110%
L7 130% 110% 120%
L8 140% 120% 130%
L9 150% 130% 140%

Punishment requirement

If a group has received punishments of `40%` or more, the promotion request is denied immediately.

Groups can check their current punishment statistics with:

  • /groupstats

Member count rule

Having more than `15` new members joining in the month before the application submission date can result in a denial for boosted activity.

This also includes cases such as:

  • vacations
  • re-invited members

For this rule:

  • new members less than `15` days old are excluded
  • players who have not logged in for more than `7` days are considered inactive

AI rule

All applications must be written manually.

If an application appears to be AI generated:

  • it is flagged
  • `GLMs` vote on it
  • `Pangram` AI detector is used for further verification

If both the team vote and Pangram reach an average of `60%` or higher, the application is denied.

Additional denial reasons

A promotion request can also be denied if:

  • the group is known as toxic in the community
  • the group received too many complaints in a short time
  • the group was recently warned or demoted and has not been reconfirmed yet
  • the application has less than `600` words
  • the application was edited after submission without permission from `GLMs`

If a promotion request is rejected, the group must wait `4` weeks before submitting a new one.

Application format

The promotion application includes these basic fields:

  • Group name
  • Group level
  • Link to group board
  • Last group promotion or demotion date
  • Leadership of the group

The written part of the application is divided into these sections:

I. Group Vision

This section explains:

  • the group's mission and vision
  • how the group maintains them
  • how they align with the community
  • current and future goals
  • how the group contributes to the community

II. Group Leadership and Management structure

This section explains:

  • the nature of the leadership
  • how the group is led
  • how tasks are distributed
  • how leadership is structured
  • how stability and efficiency are maintained

III. Recruitment Process

This section explains:

  • how recruitment is handled
  • how potential members are selected
  • which criteria are used
  • any future plans to improve recruitment

IV. Group Promotion

This section explains:

  • why the group should be promoted
  • how the group will handle challenges at a higher level

V. Additional Information

This section is used for any other relevant information the group wants to include for the review.

VI. Agreements

The application includes agreements where the group must answer:

  • whether it fully acknowledges the Official Groups system changes implemented on June 19, 2023
  • whether the application was not generated or assisted by AI

Review after promotion

The following review rules apply to `L6` to `L9` groups.

Monthly activity needed to keep the current level

Current level Criminals / Gangsters Civilian Workers Police Service
L6 100% 80% 90%
L7 110% 90% 100%
L8 120% 100% 110%
L9 130% 110% 120%

If a group does not meet these activity requirements:

  • a warning is issued
  • if the issue is not fixed by the next review, the group is demoted

Average playtime is calculated as:

  • total minutes played per day divided by total days checked

Punishment review

For reviewed groups:

  • if a group receives more than `70%` punishments, a warning is issued
  • if a group reaches `100%` punishments, it is demoted automatically

After the most recent punishment:

  • there is a `30` hour cooldown period

While the group stays clean:

  • the punishment percentage decreases by `1%` per day

If the group receives another punishment:

  • the decrease stops
  • the `30` hour cooldown starts again

If members leave the group to stop their punishment from being counted in the group's total:

  • it is treated as punishment evading
  • the punishment can still be counted on the group
  • repeated cases can lead to harsher action

Member count review

If a group has more than `20` joins within a month during review:

  • a warning is issued

Demotion and reconfirmation

If a warned group does not fix its condition within a month:

  • it is demoted

Dead groups with zero activity for months are likely to be demoted.

After demotion:

  • the group must wait `2` months before applying for the next level

Warned and recently demoted groups:

  • cannot apply for promotion until they are reviewed and reconfirmed again

To avoid receiving a warning after demotion:

  • the group must keep a clean `GMP` for the upcoming month until the next group reviews

If a retired group with `Honorable` status meets the official group requirements for a prolonged period and remains active:

  • it is automatically promoted to official group `L6` by the bot

Reporting a group for review

If a group no longer meets its standards, reports can be made by:

  • posting under the group's profile
  • sending a PM to all current `GLMs`

Reports should include proof.

Behavior reports should show:

  • repeated behavior over time
  • behavior from a relevant number of members, not just a few
  • strong evidence if a single disruptive member is repeatedly causing issues
  • only relevant evidence

Reports may be ignored if they are not supported by facts.
