MTA:SA fix

ASI plugins or a game-folder DLL block MTA

Test without the named third-party game modification while keeping a recoverable copy.

The message

Remove the following *.asi files

Codes on this page: CL21, CL28

Steps

Try one step, then check whether the problem is still there. Follow any "only if" line before changing a setting.

  1. Find the named modification in the game installation

Close MTA. Check the GTA and MTA installation folders for the ASI plugin named by the warning. For a DLL clash, use the exact filename shown.

  2. Disable that mod with a recoverable backup

Only for identified third-party mod files in these game installations.

Use the mod’s uninstall instructions, or move the identified third-party plugin to a backup outside the game and MTA folders. For a d3d9.dll graphics mod, only act on the copy supplied by that mod beside GTA’s executable.

Careful: Do not delete Windows DLLs or unknown files. Keep the backup outside scanned game subfolders.

  3. Launch again with the mod disabled

If MTA now opens, leave that incompatible mod out of the MTA game installation. If it still fails, preserve the exact new message before changing another file.

Worth knowing

The Help page recommends removing ASI files from both installation trees. This recipe uses a recoverable backup instead of indiscriminate deletion. A file-clash warning is not evidence that every DLL is a mod.
