Police Officer

Police Officer is the main law job in CIT. It is the basic police role used to arrest wanted players, patrol, enforce the law, and respond to criminal activity across the server.

Overview

`Police Officer` is the base police job.

Its main role is to:

  • arrest wanted players
  • patrol
  • enforce the law
  • respond to `APBs`
  • join law-side responses in `ARs` and `CEs`

It has no arrest requirement to unlock.

How to become a Police Officer

To become a `Police Officer`:

  • go to the front entrance of `LSPD` or `SFPD`
  • quit your current job if needed
  • enter the yellow job marker

You can also take the job at:

New players can also use:

/lspd

This teleports them to the Los Santos department.

At:

  • 100,000 law points

you can also use:

/go Police Officer

What Police Officers do

Police Officers:

  • arrest wanted criminals
  • patrol the server
  • enforce the law
  • answer `APBs`
  • join law-side activity in `ARs` and `CEs`

Finding wanted players

The main tool for finding suspects is the Police Computer.

To open it, press:

  • F5

The Police Computer shows:

  • wanted players
  • their distance
  • their city
  • their team
  • their transport type

It also lets you:

  • click a suspect to track them
  • filter by wanted level
  • filter by transport
  • filter by city

It also shows law-side information such as:

Arrests

Arrests are the main job action of a `Police Officer`.

To send a wanted player to jail:

  • kill them
  • or taze them and arrest them with the nightstick

Most players kill instead of using the full arrest process.

After a player is arrested:

  • they are sent to jail
  • their jail time depends on their wanted level

Nightstick

The police nightstick is the arrest weapon for:

  • non-violent wanted players

To arrest with the nightstick:

  • hit the target 3 times

After that:

  • take them to the nearest police station

This does not apply if they use:

  • /surrender

Nightstick limits

You cannot arrest players with the nightstick if:

Inside `JFM`:

  • cops cannot arrest with the nightstick
  • they can only kill

Taser

The `Taser` is the stun weapon used before arresting.

Key points:

  • it replaces the pistol
  • it does no damage
  • it is used before arresting with the nightstick

Wanted system

Police Officers work directly with the wanted system.

Players become wanted by doing crimes such as:

  • aiming at police
  • committing criminal acts

The stars above a player's head show:

  • that player's wanted level

To check wanted stars, use:

/wl

This shows:

  • your wanted stars
  • the top 3 most wanted players

APB

`APB` means:

  • `All Points Bulletin`

It is a server-wide alert for highly wanted players.

Key points:

  • it starts at 1000 Wanted Points
  • up to 3 `APBs` can exist at once
  • the thresholds are 1000, 1100, and 1200 WP

To view the current APB target, use:

/apb

`/apb` shows:

  • the current target
  • the target location
  • whether the target is inside an `AR`

The APB target also gets:

  • a yellow star blip

APB alerts

When an `APB` is posted:

  • both cops and criminals can see the alert

APB removal

An `APB` is removed when the target:

  • is arrested
  • dies
  • quits while a cop is nearby

Protected Areas

Inside a `Protected Area`:

  • wanted players cannot be damaged
  • wanted players can only jog
  • cops can still taze wanted players
  • cops can still arrest wanted players

This means `Protected Areas` do not fully stop police action.

Communication

Police Officers use law communication tools for coordination.

Emergency Chat

To talk to other law players, use:

/e <message>

This is used for:

  • law backups
  • regrouping
  • coordination

Law codes can be learned through:

  • F1 > Documentation
  • /codes

AI partner

Police Officers can get an AI partner.

Use:

/partner

This works when:

  • the danger level is above 1.5

You can also use it:

  • while inside a vehicle

The AI partner is removed if:

  • the cop dies

Earnings

Police Officers make money from:

  • arrests
  • `APB` captures
  • law-side participation in `ARs`
  • law-side participation in `CEs`

Progression

Police progression starts with `Police Officer`.

`Police Officer` has:

  • no requirement to unlock

Police levels also unlock later law-side perks.

Documented police level rewards include:

  • vehicles like the `Enforcer`
  • `FBI Truck`
  • `FBI Rancher`
  • `Police Maverick`
  • /sirens
  • better arrest pay

The maximum police level is:

  • 60

Leaving the job

To leave the police job instantly, use:

/quitjob

  • You cannot arrest players inside vehicles with the nightstick.
  • Inside `JFM`, cops can only kill and cannot nightstick-arrest.
  • In `Protected Areas`, wanted players still can be tazed and arrested.
  • `Police Officer` is the base police job in the law progression.
