GTA executable or a required GTA file is missing

Point MTA at an installed classic GTA: San Andreas PC game and repair the named game file if necessary.

Steps

Try one step, then check whether the problem is still there. Follow any "only if" line before changing a setting.

1. Check the game folder selected during installation

   Confirm that it is your installed classic GTA: San Andreas PC game, with its game executable present. A downloaded installer or a folder containing only MTA is not the game installation.

2. Repair GTA from its trusted installation source

   If a required game file is absent, repair or reinstall GTA using your legitimate game source. Preserve your savegames first. Do not use a random replacement executable or a modified game pack.

3. Select the repaired folder and test

   Run the official MTA installer if its selected GTA path needs correcting. Launch GTA single player once, close it, and then retry MTA.
