Community Ranks

Community Ranks are forum-access ranks in CIT that give extra forum and community privileges. They are requested through the Community Ranks board and are mainly earned through forum activity, recent helpful posting, or recognized community duties.

The main Community Ranks are:

  • JCM — Junior Community Member
  • RCM — Regular Community Member
  • SCM — Senior Community Member

There is also:

  • OCM — Outstanding Community Member

Overview

Community Ranks are not automatic. Players must request them on the official Community Ranks board if they meet the requirements.

Official board:

The main ways to qualify are:

  • total posts in major boards
  • recent helpful activity in major boards
  • officially recognized community duties

Main ranks

JCM

JCM means Junior Community Member.

It is the second Community Rank and gives perks such as:

  • editing your own posts on some boards
  • mentioning users
  • viewing the Administrative Profiles board
  • posting in the Group Profiles board
  • using Notify
  • storing up to 200 private messages
  • a light green color with 2 green squares

JCM requirements

You can qualify for JCM in any of these ways:

  • Method 1: more than 150 posts in major boards, and your forum account must be older than 2 months
  • Method 2: at least 20 posts in major boards during the past month, with at least 30% of them being decent quality, and your forum account must be older than 2 months
  • Method 3: at least 2 months in an officially recognized community duty excluding inactivity periods, or at least 6 months as a leader in an official group at L6+ with a custom title

RCM

RCM means Regular Community Member.

It is the third Community Rank. It keeps the earlier perks and also:

  • raises your private message limit to 300
  • lets you apply for L1 Staff or PAM in the Administrative Profiles board
  • gives 3 green squares

RCM requirements

You can qualify for RCM in any of these ways:

  • Method 1: more than 300 posts in major boards, and you must have had JCM for at least 2 months
  • Method 2: at least 35 posts in major boards during the past month, with at least 60% of them being decent quality, and you must have had JCM for at least 2 months
  • Method 3: at least 1 year in an officially recognized community duty excluding inactivity periods

SCM

SCM means Senior Community Member.

It is the final Community Rank. It keeps the earlier perks and also:

  • raises your private message limit to 400
  • gives 4 green squares

SCM requirements

You can qualify for SCM in any of these ways:

  • Method 1: more than 450 posts in major boards, and you must have had RCM for at least 3 months
  • Method 2: at least 50 posts in major boards during the past month, with at least 80% of them being decent quality, and you must have had RCM for at least 3 months
  • Method 3: at least 2 years in an officially recognized community duty excluding inactivity periods, or at least 2 months as NAS, L2+ Staff, or ICM

OCM

OCM means Outstanding Community Member.

Major boards

The following boards count as major boards for Community Rank activity, but only when the posts are actually helpful:

  • Discussion — only if you are helping
  • News and Updates — only if you are helping
  • Backlogged — only if you are helping
  • Quality Assurance — only if you are helping or reporting bugs
  • Support Boards — only if you are helping
  • Tutorials and Guides — only if you are helping
  • Contribute — only if you are helping

Recognized community duties

The officially recognized community duties for Community Rank applications are:

Common rules for all Community Rank requests

The following rules apply to all Community Rank requests:

  • no recent punishments
  • no punishments in the last 1 month for JCM
  • no punishments in the last 45 days for RCM
  • no punishments in the last 2 months for SCM
  • no behavioral issues
  • your last Community Rank request must be at least 14 days ago
  • your English must be understandable
  • power-posting before applying can get you denied
  • copied or lazy applications can get you denied
  • you cannot argue denied applications
  • you cannot apply while fully muted in game
  • if your rank was removed, you cannot skip ranks when applying again
  • if your rank was removed, old contributions from before that removal do not count
  • more than 5% warning level causes immediate denial
  • if you apply through the duty method, mention all duties and have no punishments in the past year

Important limits and denial reasons

Wait time between requests

Your last Community Rank request must be at least 14 days ago before you apply again.

Warning level

If you have more than 5% warning level, your Community Rank request is denied immediately.

Full mute

You cannot apply for a Community Rank while you are fully muted in game.

How to apply

To apply for a Community Rank:

  • create a new topic on the Community Ranks board
  • use the correct subject format
  • fill in the required request information

Use this subject format:

Use this format in your request topic:

  • Nickname
  • Account name
  • Serial(s)
  • Current rank (if any)
  • Requesting rank
  • Discord Username (without #1234)
  • Why do I think I deserve this

Things you cannot apply for through the Community Ranks board

You cannot apply for these through the Community Ranks board:

Those are handled by their own teams or boards.

Honorable

You cannot apply for Honorable.

It is a rare Community Rank given for exceptional contributions or certain past staff contributions.

Primary forum group change

If your Community Rank is added as a secondary forum group and you want it shown as your primary forum group, you can request that change in the forum topic for changing forum primary groups.

Staff and PAM priority rules still apply.
