Civilian Jobs

Civilian Jobs are the work based jobs on the Civilian side in CIT. They are the main way civilians earn money through non combat gameplay such as transport, delivery, mining, farming, repairs, public service, and other utility work.

This page is a summary page. Each job has its own separate page for detailed instructions.

How to use civilian jobs

Use F3 to browse jobs. If you have under 20 playtime hours, /jobs teleports you to the civilian jobs area. Stand on a civilian job marker in the Employment Office to open the job GUI when that job has a marker there.

The Employment Office GUI can show:

  • About the Job
  • Select a Location
  • Preview a Job Skin
  • skin list with Skin ID and Skin Name
  • Preview Skin
  • Restore Skin
  • Video tutorial
  • Warp To Job Location
  • Close

Shared job systems

Feature What to know
Job radio /r talks to players working the same supported job.
GPS cleanup Job GPS waypoints are removed when you quit that job.
Rapid Transport Some civilian jobs restrict Rapid Transport. News Reporter may not use Rapid Transport.
Video tutorials Civilian jobs can have video tutorials in F3 and at job markers.
Random triple XP Every 50 to 100 hours, a random civilian job receives triple XP for 1 hour. Miner, Hunter, Farmer, Mechanic, Medic, and Lumberjack are excluded. Civilian XP is job progress.

How the job works

Civilian Jobs are for players who want non law, non criminal work.

To browse civilian jobs:

  • use /jobs to travel to the civilian jobs area if you have under 20 playtime hours
  • or open F3

To see other civilian earning methods and opportunities:

  • use /opportunities
  • or open F3

What Civilian Jobs are

Civilian Jobs are non combat jobs where players earn money by working.

They include activities such as:

  • deliveries
  • passenger transport
  • cargo transport
  • mining
  • farming
  • fishing
  • hunting
  • repairs
  • utility work
  • emergency and service jobs

Available Civilian Jobs

Civilian jobs include:

Job systems

Job info board

While working, the civilian job Info Board appears at the bottom right of the screen and shows job specific information. The separate action progress bar is at the bottom left.

This can be adjusted in:

/settings

Job radio

Some civilian jobs use:

/r [message]

This is the job radio channel for players working the same job.

Not every civilian job has job radio.

Job vehicle spawn blips

Job vehicle spawners use map blips:

  • regular job vehicles use a grey car blip
  • boats use an anchor blip
  • planes use a plane blip

Their visibility can be changed through settings.

GPS behavior

If a civilian job sets a GPS waypoint, that waypoint is removed when you quit the job.

Rapid Transport during jobs

Rapid Transport can cancel a mission, remove cargo or passengers, or impose a job-specific cooldown. News Reporter cannot use it, including /rt. Check the job's own page before teleporting.

Civilian job levels

Civilian jobs have their own level progression; the mining jobs share a Miner level. A task that promotes you still uses the old rank's pay, and the higher rank's pay starts with the next task. The promotion bonus arrives with the promoting task.

The standard promotion rewards are below. VIP does not increase them. Software Developer is the exception: every promotion pays a flat $50,000.

Level Promotion reward
Level 1 $50,000
Level 2 $100,000
Level 3 $150,000
Level 4 $200,000
Level 5 $250,000
Level 6 $300,000
Level 7 $350,000
Level 8 $400,000
Level 9 $450,000
Level 10 $500,000

Many civilian jobs unlock a direct /go Job Name shortcut at Level 10. When that shortcut offers Use personal skin, choose it to keep your personal skin. You can also change a job skin at a clothing store or with /vipskin without quitting the job.

Rankings and achievements

Civilian jobs are tracked in systems like:

Civilian achievements include Level 10 job achievements for many civilian jobs.

Job rules and limits

Civilian earnings use a shared hourly limit of $450,000, or $540,000 with VIP. The counter resets at the next real-life hour, not when you change jobs. Double Earnings hours and active Double Earnings tokens double the limit. The payment that crosses the limit is cut to the amount remaining; later cash payments pay 10%. Resource rewards stop above the limit.

Electrician, Plumber, and City Engineer tasks still give full job progress when the earn limit reduces their cash payment.

  • Civilian Jobs are the main work system on the Civilian side.
  • This page is a general summary.
  • Each job has its own page for exact workflow, requirements, ranks, and rewards.

Tutorial notes

For cooperative work, Waste Managers can glue onto the back pads of another player's stationary Trashmaster and collect. A friend can gather Farmer bales with a Walton, fish while glued to a boat, or use the News Reporter camera while glued to a vehicle. Taxi Drivers can carry real players as paying passengers. Fuel Transporter unit members share destinations. Delivery Man and Trucker unit members do not.

  • Civilian jobs have video tutorials in F3 and at job markers.
  • City Engineer also has a Watch video tutorial button on both its Road Construction and House Construction tabs.

Job pay tools

Tool Use
CIT Job Pay Tables Check job payout rows, resource rewards, level scaling, VIP values, and dynamic job notes.
L10 Job Hourly Review Compare Level 10 money per hour and progress per hour planning values.

River fishing

River Fisherman is Fisherman's land method and shares its level and progress. Start with /fish near water, then use its circular minigame; N switches Cash and Fish payment after you are employed.

Job information and skin preview

The job information panel can show About the Job, Select a Location, and Preview a Job Skin, plus a skin list with Skin ID, Skin Name, Preview Skin, and Restore Skin. While previewing a job skin, click the character model to rotate the preview.

Finding and restoring a mission objective

There is no universal objective command because activities work differently. Civilian jobs keep a map blip for the current destination or task.

If job or trucking containers do not appear, exit and re-enter the job vehicle. Restart the mission if they are still missing.

Job vehicle selection

The job vehicle selector remembers your last vehicle selection for each job during the current session.

Personal skin at a job marker

At Level 10 in a civilian job, you can choose your personal skin at that job's marker, just like selecting Use personal skin through /go <job name>. The Level 10 requirement applies to that particular job. Criminals and Gangsters can use most non law and non civilian job skins.

F5 Work Console

Every job can use F5 by default.

  • Jobs with a specialized interface open that job's panel. Other jobs open the generic Work Console, which shows the occupation, shift status, team, workers on shift, rank, and progress.
  • Its available actions can include Start Shift or End Shift, Job Tutorial, Opportunities (F3), Vehicle Center (F2), and Quit Job. A job can show that manual shifts, ranks, or progress are unavailable when that occupation does not use them.
  • To change the key for the generic Work Console, open /sbinds and find Work Console Key; its default is F5. Specialized panels have their own bindings, such as Police Computer Key, Fuel Dispatcher Key, and Medic Panel Key, also defaulting to F5.

Job information display

The Info Board at the bottom right shows job information, tasks and level progress. Use /settings > Interface > INFO BOARD > Show Info Board to show or hide it. The default is Yes. After L10, it shows Prestige progress toward the next prestige level. The separate action progress bar at the bottom left is not the Info Board.

Standard rank pay multipliers

Pilot, Fuel Transporter, Trucker, Bus Driver, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Firefighter, City Engineer, Pizza Boy, and News Reporter use the standard ladder of 1.0x at L0 rising 0.2x per level to 3.0x at L10:

  • L0 1.0x, L1 1.2x, L2 1.4x, L3 1.6x
  • L4 1.8x, L5 2.0x, L6 2.2x, L7 2.4x
  • L8 2.6x, L9 2.8x, L10 3.0x

Fuel Transporter applies it to the distance part of the payout, and Pilot applies it to the route's unit pay before the plane multiplier and any runway or VIP bonuses.

Civilian job prestige

Civilian job prestige appears as stars after the rank in /stats > CIVILIAN JOB RANKS. Prestige 1 requires twice the job's L10 progress. Each further L10 worth of progress gives another star. Medic also qualifies. Your level remains L10 and progress is not reset. Prestige 1 in any job earns Prestigious Professional and $1,000,000.
